I get the Connecting message but it never connects to the computer. How should this be done, 
I tried the procedure outlined in the documentation but it did not work. I have been using the sneaker net procedure, removing the SD card and inserting it into the card reader on my computer and copying the files to it and then re-inserting it into the TX. When I update the firmware do I need to update the bootloader at the same time, I am running ver 1.3 of the bootloader. 
I still don't understand it as the other two cables work on the drives but not the TX. Oh well I have one that works so that is the main thing. The other part of my question was about the boot loader do I need to update this each time I update the formware.

Easystar is the name of an example model.. it's file number 0260. from 260 on you have the model names.. Have a look at the .doc file that comes with the voice pack in the link I just posted..
Why couldn't you flash the radio? which error?

The sound file with the model name, so for example, when i press the menu key, easystar is played and the letter doesnt change. I press again, to attempt changing and again its played. I hear the connecting sound, and have used the same cable for putting on a previous test version, but I'm stuck now, I see USB on my TX screen, but can't find the sd card anywhere on my PC.. now what???MikeB wrote:I assume you don't hear the 'USB CONNECTING" sound on the PC when you plug in?
You may well have done so, but the first stop is to try another USB cable. It is known that there are cables around, that are used for charging devices, that only have the power and ground connected, no data.
