Hi All,
I got my hands on a Q X7 someone previously tried to repair. The radio did not power on and showed no signs of life whatsoever (also when connected via USB).
I spotted a missing diode in the USB power circuit. I put the diode back and the radio is now detected as an 'STM32 Bootloader' in Device Manager. I then flashed it with an OpenTX (using Companion), but the radio still does not react to power button.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Q X7 does not power on
Re: Q X7 does not power on
Update: I don't see 3.3v output on the voltage regulator. When on battery and 'Power' button is pressed, the input of TPS54228 gets ~8V (battery voltage), but the output is still 0v.
When connected via USB, the power output line gets ~4.5v all the time (but the input is 0v, so this clearly does not com from the regulator).
It might be that the regulator is faulty. But ... in all cases I tried so far, the LCD displays nothing...
Should the LCD show anything when the radio is connected via USB ?
I'm suspecting the voltage regulator may not be the only issue of this radio...

Re: Q X7 does not power on
When the radio is connected to USB while powered off the screen doesn't show anything.
Re: Q X7 does not power on
That sounds good!
There's a chance a new voltage regulator can fix it...
Thanks!
