Weli I have just recived a new module from banggood (replacment), in this module the green led are illuminated as power is on.
If i choose diffrent protocol then multi one of the led blinks. So it seems that the module is allive. In spite of that I was not able to bind the module with my orange reciver. my setup is:
turnigy 9xr pro with frimware of Ersky9xr version-220
With in the model setup in the protocol:disable the internal module
selected external module
setup proto to Multi
setup protocol to DSMsetup Type to DSMX-11 allso tried DSM2-11, DSM2-22 and Auto
Setup Autobind to N.
Option: 9Ch
In addition in the telemetry setup:
Usr Proto: DSMx.
Invert com 1
Yet I am unable to bind with my OrangeRx 920x v2 DSM2/DSMX reciver.
9xr pro with Irangex 4 in 1
Re: 9xr pro with Irangex 4 in 1

You may wish to update the ersky9x firmware to a recent "test" version. Providing the firmware in the module is up to date, then you would get status returned from the module. This allows you to use "AUTO" when binding when the required settings are automatically configured from the response of the receiver.

"FrskyD", the third protocol in the list should work, subType 0.

"None" is subType 0.

Does not work, tried Assan, does not work either.
How to check if module gets any power at all?
Edit: Easy, open it and discover 2 led...
Nothing was making contact. I had to unscrew the print and seat it properly on the contacts.Led now lighting, gave me confidence.Tried Assan first, then FrSky.Both now bound without problems...
