FrSKY DHT module to 9Xtreme board connections

Post by WhyKnot »

I read on the forum that the black and white wires from the 9Xtreme board go to DHT module. Do the remaining Positive(+) and Negative (-)terminals on the DHT module get used, and if so where?

Much appreciated if someone could answer?

Usually you connect the DHT via the red (+), black (-) and yellow (ppm) wires.
Then you only need TxD (black wire from 9XT) and RxD (white wire from 9XT) of the telemetry port.
5V and GND of the telemetry port have to be left alone.

ersky9x, in protocol menu has internal and external module on/off. I assume that internal is for intance a dht module, and its possible to switch it on and off, so we can use an external one, right?

Yes, if either module is OFF, then power to that module is switched off.

Humm, let me see if I got it right.
If either module is off, obviously a dht will be off, right. If internal is on, then a dht will be on, right? What if both are on and I have an external module, will I be able to use 16 channels with a djt? Thx.

Mike, then I have just also realized that it makes no sense the radio being powered from the trainer jack. You could use whatever pin you use for sensing it for something else ;)

Both modules will be ON and you can send 8 channels to one and the other 8 to the other. You need 2 receivers of course

1. The jack power doesn't use an extra pin to turn the power on or sense power is due to the jack being plugged in.
2. Sensing jack power causes the the trainer signal to be an output instead of an input.

I thought this was controlled by the software in the 9xtreme.

Hi, if we fork the 9xtreme telemetry wire (tx/rx) to the dht and djt simultaneously, will the telemetry work?

Hmmm, good question.. it could, but ONLY if both modules are NEVER on at the same time.
Not sure if some kind of circuitry would be needed..

Ok. Then if I get the telemetry just from one module, will the telemetry info be accurate for the whole model?

If the receiver bound to that module is inside the model and connected to sensors, yes it will..
It will not tell you if the other receiver loses signal though. So it is very important that the telemetry receiver is the one with the main controls..
