Flight testing..
Well...
Just back in from a short flying session on the new board.
Flight was with:
HK Micro Stick
FRSky DJT Module
D4FR Receiver
Protocol PXX
No glitches; hickup or problems detected. Everything was rock solid!
Only problem was the wind

Re: Flight testing..
there's like nothing in terms of sutable areas to do any real soaring where i live (in the a** end of connecticut as i say) nothing but trees trees and more trees i have to go 45mins away to a corn field just to fly anything above a park flyer size model
p.s.
at least not without fpv for which i do not yet have

Re: Flight testing..
Flew my ultra micro T-28 this morning on ersky9x with my homemade dsm module. No problems at all. Well, I got several packs in before I forgot how to fly inverted
I think we need to build in a system with frsky that knows when your upside down and reverses the inputs on the sticks.
Really though, great work Mike and Brent! everything is going great. Cheers!

Those T-T8 micros can only just about fly inverted

Re: Flight testing..
There are about lebenty-seven versions of the T-28. It makes a nice airframe because the big nose keeps the speed down.

Re: Flight testing..
Yep, I'm talking about the Parkzone UltraMicro to be specific. It's a DSM2 built in board so I like to test my homemade DSM module with that and the MCPx before I fly anything bigger. So far they are both working perfectly with er9x on ersky.
But it does fly inverted very well... It's ME that doesn't fly inverted very well.

Re: Flight testing..
Just wanted to report in that I got my frsky telemetry working in ersky9x firmware. I didn't have a mico-headphone connector so I just used a servo cable and connected to the pins inside. Not all that pretty, but its working. And guess what?! no soldering of processor pins required!! The only thing was that at first I was putting the connector on COM1 because I throught I read COM2 was used for debugging.
For anyone looking to do the connection... it's com2 Funny sounds come out of the tx when you connect frsky to com1..

Re: Flight testing..
Yep thats what I did for the module end, servo connector in the inside and ran the cable through the hole on top where my old antenna was. (just for now)
My mcpx model is nothing fancy.. attached though if you want to see it.

See this post for a working MCPx setup:

Hexperience,
You have the pitch set to 100% in your setup. Unless you have changed something mechanically that will be too much pitch for the MCPx. I have mine set to 55% and it seems very happy there.

Re: Flight testing..
More flight test results; Flew my T-34 Mentor for a couple of packs this morning. Using Frsky module and telemetry worked perfecty. No problems at all... and no crashes! I'm more careful with my T-34.
As for the mcpx mix, I've never noticed a problem with pitch, it seems to fly fine, but I'm not doing 3d on it or anything. My dual rates are set at 65% though so I'm not getting 100% even though the channel is 100%

Re: Flight testing..
speaking of telemetry i just got a full setup for the frsky sensor hub and i noticed that the lipo voltage sensor (the oled one) either averages the cell voltages or it's being averaged in ersky
everything else however works great (minus the gps that was outa stock) rpm works great after initial spool up (lags on the spool up readings) and altimeter/variometer also works well and is very sensitive
this is all now put into my phoenix 2k 2m glider and it works great even on marginal signal strength (went up about 2500 feet according to the altimeter with the 2db antenna)
