What TX/RX to pick

Post by TGreyFleet »

Hello all,

I am currently looking for a new TX/RX system that will cover all my future projects.

I am needing as much inputs as possible, be it switches, or pot meters or buttons (but at least 2 pot meters)
It must have telemtry for
- Amps (2 motors minimum, more is welcome for other options that consume alot of power)
- Volts for battery (lipo)
- temperature (as many as possible, 2 for motors, all others around different smoke heaters within the model to prevent any misfortunes
I also need as much outputs as possible. At least 24, preferably more.

As far as I can see in my novice experience with TX/RX gear, I can only see the X9E available, but that appears to have telemetry issues when using 32 channels?

Any advice is welcome, from the needed hardware to how to set it up.

Thanks in advance.

FrSky XJT - JR/Graupner Type 16ch Duplex Transmitter Telemetry Module:

and to go with it maybe this FrSky X8R - 8/16 Channel Receiver:

If you looking for a radio, this is good too, FrSky Taranis Plus ACCESS SE:

I believe you can flash it with "erskyTx for Taranis Plus" too: http://www.er9x.com/
Though maybe good the check with Mike B. before flashing first.
With erskyTx firmware you can use the internal Module and external Module at the same time
and choose which one you want to do the Telemetry. You can then have 32 channels.
Also you can use a different Module in the external if you like too.
Er9x on 9x radio, with Smartieparts Programmer and TelemetrEZ Board.
ErSky9x on Taranis, Sky9x, 9Xtreme radios.
