Hello Everyone,

I have recently upgraded my remote controller after scoring a nice deal from hobbyking. Got myself following kit:

Note: I am using this for a hexacopter with NazaM V2.
I am trying to configure this thing, and I am stuck. I have a feeling that I may need more than 8 channels. This is why I am seeking your expertise.

Here is how the channels currently mapped:

Code: Select all

CH1	AIL (Right Stick)
CH2	ELE (Right Stick)
CH3	THR (Left Stick)
CH4	RUD (Left Stick)
CH5	NAZA IOC (GEA SW: IOC On/Off, AIL SW: Home Lock, Course Lock)
CH6	NAZA FLIGHT MODE (RUD SW: Failsafe, ID0/1/2: GPS, ATTI, MAN)
CH7
CH8
*Please refer to this diagram for the name of the switches.

Now as you can see, I have two remaining channels left. However, I still have following devices in the aircraft that I need to control with following respective switches.
  • 3 Axis Gimbal: P1 Switch to control pitch & P3 switch to control yaw. RX connects directly to gimbal.
  • Video Switcher: ELE Switch to switch between GoPro, and FPV camera. RX connects directly to switcher.
  • Light Switcher: P2 Switch to control lights. 0% position OFF, 50% position "strobes on", 100% position "strobes and leds on" RX connects directly to switcher.
As a reference, this is how I want the controls to map:

Code: Select all

ELE SW	CAMERA SWITCH PFV - GOPRO
P1	GIMBAL PITCH
P3	GIMBAL YAW
P2	LIGHT CONTROL OFF - STROBE - LED+STROBE
ID0/1/2	GPS - ATTI - MANUAL
AIL SW	HOME LOCK - COURSE LOCK
RUD SW	FAILSAFE OFF - ON
THR SW	THR LOCK (ARM - DISARM)
GEA SW	IOC OFF - ON
TRN SW	UNUSED
Now, the question is, with remaining two channels left, how will I map these remaining 4 functions to the remote?

If you need these to be controlled independently (you do), you indeed don't have enough channels.

You should have gotten an XJT/X8R set instead.

Is XJT/X8R better then the combo I purchased besides giving me more channels? I can totally return the one I got and order the one you recommended.

Yep, it's the newer generation with a bunch of extra features - but in your case the main one is that it offers enough channels to do what you want.

Ok awesome. I have ordered XJT, and I will return the other one.
