Backup and restore not realy works with Companio9x

Post by Helle »

Hy,

latest openTx and companion9x, older also.
Taranis Tx

At the TX I make a Modell, test and its ok
then I make a Backup of this single Modell, at SD-card Modells, looks ok, ???

then I copy this modellfile delta.bin via WIN to the subdir eepe of companion9x

then I start companion9x, open this file and its empty, ???? companion9x runs.

other way:

I start companion9x
open this file at E:\Modells (its at the SD-Card with the modells)

and companion9x chrashes

Hope the error is between my ears

Restore of the model saved on the SD card using the Transmitter, not Companion9x.

Scott there is some issue we are trying to solve with Taranis...
The restore from backup function was implemented before the taranis was even in production
Helle is not wrong.

Best practice is to backup the entire eeprom, not single models.
Currently a model backup could not be restored if the eeprom format changed in the meantime.

Helle you cannot open the file,
you need to do a restore from backup in a new memory.
