Can't control landing light on Spektrum reciever

Hi!
I'm setting up my new E-flite Maule M7 with a TX16S. I've got everything to work except controlling the landing lights on Ch5. I've set up a 3-position switch on channel 5 that goes from 100% to 0% to -100%. But this doesn't work. The light is on all the time and cannot be switched off.
Does any one know how this should be set up to work properly?
