Can I use PC connection without batteries in a TX18S radio?

Hi everyone!
I am new to this forum and to this hobby too
, very likely the question will be silly, at least I hope to make no mistakes posting this in this section.
I bought a Radioking TX18S, it is arrived today but I am waiting for the batteries.
I would like to try the radio with the simulator or only turning it on for seeing opentx for my first time.
Does anyone know if I can connect the radio with the type-c cable to the pc without having any batteries in the radio? Or I would risk to damage something?
(I searched in the tx18s user manual but I did not find anything
