At this time all ok, I turn off the radio and turn on again..but... nothing works... nada.. zip..... only the backlight turn on. I try connect by USBasp and show this message for me:

I try connect the display directly no backlight.. not working.
Only problem ( Ithink) when I did the flashing I use the battery and the USBasp connect on the same time ( I was Folling a video on youtube about the flashing the guy dont say nothing about use or not the battery and usbasp powering together.. So,,

This signature is strange for me, is the connection OK?

Re: Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on !?
I think that all connections are ok because I could upgrade to the openTX , the problem was I connect the battery at the same time with the USBasp even so it all worked out . When I turn on the radio again after the upgrade so he turned on the backlight .

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
Can't see your pictures.. it gives an error. Why don't you post the pictures here on the forum?
Do you have the right chip selected in companion?
I was going to suggest you use -B 100 in the extra arguments field to slow the programming down, but I can see your programmer has the "cannot set SCK period" problem. So -B 100 might not work with that programmer.
Whatever you do, NEVER but NEVER use the -F option and avrdude suggests, unless you want to brick your radio of course

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
Other thing...... I turn on the radio and the comunication between TX and RX is ok...but Nothing working... Sticks, buttons....
Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
On your programmer there is a resistor network chip that I've marked with a red circle, please see picture. Can you read the numbers on it?
Also, If the USBasp is supplying voltage to the radio when connected, I wouldn't turn the radio ON.
Prepare yourself to make some measurements with a multimeter

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
Thx João !!! The number is 101.
Note: when I made the precession of the upgrade, I did not know and did all the upgrade with the battery and the programmer together. I was following step by step Video on youtube. The process was successful and everything worked fine for a while.

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
101 means it is a 100 ohm resistor network.. Some have 200 ohm resistors and people had problems using them.. I think I have read that 100 ohm are ok..
Do you have a friend that has another usbasp programmer? You will probably need to slow the SCK period down to be able to communicate with the chip..
Does the radio turn on normally if you power it from the programmer only?
Did you make any other mods to the radio? I think you mentioned the backlight? Is it the backlight from Hobbyking that you remove a connector from the mainboard, connect it to the backlight and then plug the backlight connector to the mainboard? If so, please remove the backlight and connect the original plug to the mainboard..

I have another programmer and already tried to use it too, but without success. Not the radio no way alloy no , not with the battery and with USBasp . The number is certainly in 101 resistor, use a magnifying glass to see it all!jhsa wrote:101 means it is a 100 ohm resistor network.. Some have 200 ohm resistors and people had problems using them.. I tried to make the process with another programmer and without the backlight connected without success. He can read the firmware and make the back of the radio , but can not write anything. Continues without turning on the display

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
So, you can download the eeprom to companion?
If so please go to the burn menu ( i think it is called like this) in companion and try to read the fuses. post the results here..

Strange that the radio worked once.
I think you need to try to slow the programming down, but I think your programmer might not be able to do it..
You could try to add -B 100 to the extra arguments in companion and try both your programmers.
Sorry, i can't think of anything else at the moment

You have the wrong signature here, so put -B 100 in the extra arguments and try to read the eeprom onto companion. It's not a good idea to try to write something when the signature is not correct..avrdude.exe: Device signature = 0x000102

The EEPROM is valid, can you still read this from the radio?
If so, are you using Avrdude to do so?
If so, please post the Avrdude output you get when reading the EEPROM.

Re: (HELP) Turnigy 9x after flashing to OpenTX dont turn on
When I open the companiom by the firt time and try read the eeprom .. is very fast I can't show the details to see what happens.. but if I try read again ... I get this msg:MikeB wrote:The EEPROM is valid, can you still read this from the radio?
If so, are you using Avrdude to do so?
If so, please post the Avrdude output you get when reading the EEPROM.
Mike.

So that is failing to read the EEPROM. I think you really do need a USBASP that will work with the -B 100 option.
Do you know anyone who has another you can borrow?
Alternatively, since you have two of them, I believe there is a way to use one to update the firmware in the other.
