I have a Taranis PLUS and some X8R.
I can combine them to handle 16 channels, but there are also the S.BUS.
Is it the same S.BUS on FrSKY as on Corona as on Futaba and so on ?
Or do I have to buy the same stuff all the time to make it talk together?
Can I get more than 16 channels then using S.BUS devices ?
Some S-BUS issues?
Some S-BUS issues?

Re: Some S-BUS issues?
As far as I know the S.Bus protocol provides 16 proportional channels and two on/off channels so a maximum of 18 channels.
Re: Some S-BUS issues?
I can't get more that 8 channels in the x8r by sbus connected to naze32 with cleanflight.

Re: Some S-BUS issues?
That's a limitation of cleanflight. The SBUS stream still carries the other channels and you could use them if you split it to feed it to another device that supports using the high channels.
Basically as said SBUS is a protocol that supports sending up to 16 proportional channels and 2 ON/OFF ones, and is the same for everybody. But then each device that works with it may implement only part of it, i.e. a radio might only send 12 channels, a flight controller might only be able to use the first 8, etc. You need to check the doc of each component to make sure it will do what you want.
The Taranis will send all 16 proportional channels but doesn't send any ON/OFF ones.
