OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

make PCB=TARANIS TRANSLATIONS=FR HELI=NO.

The others are now defined by default in the makefile (see around line 640 for next).

Ok, thanks.

Just so I can compare the size of the firmware that I compile with the one downloaded, and with the same build options.

download/file.php?mode=view&id=8021

Others have indicated to me that noticed the special menu funcion the voice file names only 8 characters handles in FW .
Over eight character file name can not play it.

Hi,

I've found that the equivalent options for fr, noheli and notemplates in Companion was make PCB=TARANIS GVARS=YES TRANSLATIONS=FR and my last build with these parameters weighted 252020 bytes (23.05.2014 17H54).

Could you tell me what you get with the last commits ?

Haptic doesn't honor repeat in special functions

Post by guttedgeek »

*** Ignore this post. All works fine when programmed on the radio. It's when setup using companion that the the repeat interval doesn't get set right.

Noticed an issue with Haptic & Special Functions. Running 1.99.1 (21-05-2014).

When setting a repeat interval on Haptic (eg 5s), it only "plays" once (ie, it doesn't repeat).

Also curious to understand what the different numbers after "Haptic" in SFs do? I assumed a different vibration pattern but they all feel the same.

Download companion in below link & download firmware through companion.
New Companion is here: http://downloads-20.open-tx.org/companion/
This is not working for me for some reason..I have Companion 1.99.1 installed and when I use it to download a firmware it brings me opentx-taranis-en.bin and after flashing it to the radio I have on the radio screen: Firmware 1.99.1 BUT no Haptic feedback option in the radio General settings neither it works.

IF I manually flash the radio with the latest Nightly available which is 5.20.14, than the radio screen shows Firmware 1.99 (note the missing .1) BUT the Haptic option is present in General Options and haptic works! :o

You need to tick the "haptic" box in the firmware options in companion before downloading, you'll then get opentx-taranis-haptic-en.bin and have the functionality. It is not included by default as it only makes sense if you installed the haptic module.

Thank you Kilrah, it makes sense :)
I was totally absorbed with the haptic idea that I was thinking it as default and not the opposite, I forgot not everyone would be going for it.
You guys are doing an outstanding work, thank you again!

Not a clear message to me.
It seems to work fine for me in Companion simulators and on the transmitter(tx).
Clarify where you are operating. Companion model simulator, Companion tx simulator or on tx

Just upgraded from the 5th of may build to the 20th of may build. I have a logical switch set up that is based off throttle being >-99 and my throttle hold switch not being in 'hold' position. I then have an edge switch based on this value becoming false that has a duration of 20 seconds. The idea was that I could carry on recording logs for 20 seconds after hitting throttle hold (think auto rotation on helis).

After I upgraded all my 'cell' logical switches became 'fuel' as did all my telemetry read outs. This was sort of expected as per the warning about the builds newer than 20th. However, what I can't seem to resolve is my edge switch with a duration. It just triggers and flicks off again, it not longer has the duration.

Is this a bug or has the functionality been moved to somewhere new?

Thanks

Endolf
The 20th of May build has some problems with duration in logical switches. Look at https://github.com/opentx/opentx/issues/1122. You should try later builds.

Bin size varies (considerably) with the version and even build/system of compiler used, take a look at this comment https://github.com/opentx/opentx/pull/8 ... t-38349682

Yes, I knew that the build size could be different depending on the compiler, that's why I wanted to make a direct comparison.
I'm currently using the toolchain found in the Ubuntu repository: gcc-arm-none-eabi 4-8-2-14ubuntu1+6.

Thanks for the link, very interesting, I read that 4.8 version could be problematic so I'll be careful.

Hy, boys ,
main Problem is, that if you have installed companion1.99.1
and you will donwload a firmware,
all old Firmwares from 21.05 to 24.05. with all the div. options is ready compiled and it has errors
at phy. switches, log. siwtches and no ON and no One at SF
This in all languages expect of english.

Software after 25.05. has not this switch errors,
but at SF no ON and no One in all languages expect of english.

Hope today when 1.99.2 will come all Firmware will new compiled to V1.99.2
But at SF no ON and no One in all languages expect of english.

At all language files line 432, 434. 436, at then end missing the Strings "ON\0" "One"
issues #1139

I am on this bug, it's an overflow. The spec doesn't say what is the unit, it doesn't help :)
