open9x with Frsky DJT module

Post by DaveP »

Can somebody please explain to this stupid person whether the substitution of the original 9X module with the DJT module automatically enables telemetry if the open9x Frsky firmware is flashed to the transmitter? Presumably the jumper has to be fitted to enable the D mode too? Or are other physical modifications necessary to the TX for that facility?
For someone new to the world of Rc, all the jargon and acronyms make understanding very difficult...
It would be great if someone could post 'The Idiots guide the 21st century Rc' explaining all the terms used and the acronyms too.
Best wishes for 2014 to you all.

With a 9x you still need to to the telemetry mod, openTx or not:

I'm moving this thread as it's in the section relating to FrSky radios, not to the 9x.

The radio must be modded to support the on screen telemetry. 2 switches must be rerouted to other pins on the cpu. If you're not good with a soldering iron you can always buy the TelemetrEZ board. Start by reading the wiki.
