The companion9X "check for updates" should find and download the latest for you. With openTx, there is no "latest binary" due to too many options. Instead companion9X requests the server to build the latest for you before downloading it.

Then you likely already downloaded the latest at some point. That would be r2768, jsut check on the radio that this is the version that is on it.

Hi Kilrah.

On checking my version.......its r2588, dated 07/07/2013 ?.

I think there might be a problem with c9x, so I'll delete it off my laptop..........and reinstall it.

No need to, just click the Donwload button in the preferences window after checking the firmware type set is correct.

You also might have downloaded the file already (i.e. c9x tells you there's no newer one) but not flashed it to the radio.

Found it OK.........but on trying to flash, I keep getting the following message:-

"DFU Util did not finish correctly".

The Tx is connected to my Laptop OK, as the USB symbol is on the screen of the Tx?.

Sorry about this.....

The radio needs to be powered off to flash the firmware.

For the firmware update, plug the USB cable in WITHOUT switching the Tx on.
For EEPROM update you switch the Tx on first, then plug the USB cable in.

Thanks guys.

I tried both approaches........but it still came up as either not able to find my Tx (EEPROM update), or came up with the DFU issue as noted above.

So......I've wiped everything again, and will re-install C9X.

Better explanations please...
What "drop down file"?
The dropdown in Zadig isn't there? Or is the desired line not in it?

You of course need your radio to be powered off and connected as mentioned.

I got so far, it found the dropdown file in Zadig.........the crashed my system !!.

For some reason beyond me.......the driver is either missing or corrupted. I'm no computer expert........its getting annoying now.

Having struggle for ages, ever since I got my Taranis..........I've finally managed it !

However......

On installing the latest firmware, I've lost the splash screen.....the ten-second countdown still hasn't been fixed.......and I've found a flaw in the "split stick" rates too.

I was hoping the flaws might have been sorted out by now ?.

Other than that, I'm really happy with the software system still.

The flashing dialog is where you specify a customised splash screen if you want one.
The new countdown options will be part of OpenTX 2.0, due to the need of storing extra parameters in the model menory it can't be added "just like that".
