Linux Mint: Cannot write destination

Post by CoyotteLg »

Hi all !

Just received my Taranis today ! Woaw ! :-)

I experience a little problem with Companion9x (v1.47) under Linux Mint
While Read Eeprom is working as super user (gksudo companion9x), I get this error message when I try tu run it as "normal" user :
"Error Cannot write destination"

I've checked that both "Eeprom backup folder" as also "SD structure path" points to a read/writeable directory.

Can someone help me to point where I made a mistake ?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Michel

the problem is how do you mount taranis eeprom drive.
I suppose you need gksudo also for writing

Hi Romolo,
Thanks for your answer... In fact, the mounting is automatic when I use gksudo...
Could you let me know where is Companion9x (or df-util?) is trying to write to ? I could therefore check if right are correctly allowed.
Thanks in advance,

Michel

Hi again...
I've made another test :
I've connected the radio (trurned on) via usb.
Both SDcard and Taranis drive were opened.
As a normal user, I've been able to create an empty file on both drives.

Should I provide you with more info, don't hesitate to ask...
Thanks a lot,
Michel

I find difficult you have been able to write an empty file in taranis drive.... (FAT is read only)

Anyway we try to overwrite taranis.bin file
so you need to have write access to the drive and to the file.
