You don't set the SD structure path to the model icon folder - which is what I think you may have done.
In Preferences you set the SD Structure path to the SD card root, or a duplicate directory of the SD card on local drive. C9x will look for the BMP folder in that location for the images, and look for the sound folder for the sounds.

thanks - yes I had it pointed to a folder which I had named 'taranis icons' - now renamed it back to BMP in the root D drive and it works fine

Cheers heliphil.........I'll add the extra Weasel to my set, so I don't confuse the two versions I have (Weasel Evo & Axis of Weasel "Limited Edition").

I don't suppose if anyone will be adding a Hawker Sea Fury, by any chance.

I'm sure that I speak for all Taranis owners, when I say that the artwork done by the developers........really IS appreciated.

Attached are three 64x64 jpgs of some F3A airplanes. I tried converting them in IrfanView, but they didn't come out right. Hope someone can help.

Here is a better starting point for the Spark, if you'd be willing to help again.

July 18th -- I updated Post #1 with model icons added since July 7. Also new Preview pages are uploaded. There are 18 new models in the new version - and one subtraction (redundant).

Anybody that wants a specific model made into an icon -- ASK. Best if you can provide a high resolution image on a solid background - preferably white. Sharp focus is essential as I remove the background first. Then I convert to Black and white - adjusting the contrast and levels. I make sure the whites in the model are actually light gray/grey. Add back in a white background and then scale to 64 x 32.

Hi Scott - could you add an icon for an Ploechinger Acrobat Shark? Unfortunately I can't provide a picture of it (it's a bit complicated - in fact, I've got a stretched T-Rex 700 with a Shark canopy, but I think that's to special ;) )...

Watch out for that ten character name limit.

If I exceed it I can\'t see it on the Taranis, even if its in the file on SD

I couldn't figure how to rename it on Tx, but just do it on the PC works fine.

Hi Scott.

I don't suppose you could upload a Hawker Sea Fury, could you ?..........even the E-flite version is pretty enough to represent the real thing.

Why can't all modelling forums be this friendly and helpful ???.

It's almost shocking, to see how helpful everyone one is.........

Cheers,

Steve.

I was trying to do it in Infraview.

I don't know Infraview -- but this is my process.

First I want the largest sharpest image possible. Using whatever tools you have remove the background completely. Then crop to 1 x 2 proportions -- but don't resample. Now I convert to B&W by adjusting the colors to maximize their difference -- so if I had a red and yellow plane I'd make the reds very dark, and the yellows very light. Next I shift the levels so the white clipped about from 255 to about 180. Then add new background of white (255). Flatten image to single layer and convert to greyscale. Now it's time to resample the size to 64 x 32 using "bicubic sharper" option. Save as a 4 bit .bmp and you're done.

Hi All,

When I try to download from this or other threads on Taranis my PC just gets stuck with a 'connecting' message in Firefox!

Downloads from other sites does not seem to be a problem however!

Anybody else seeing similar issues?

Cheers
