Femto X Quad - 8cm Multiwii Quadrocopter

Post by Kayle »

Hello,

i´d like to show you my new little Multiwii Quad. It based on the Multiwii Version 1.8p2 brushed. The Motors and Props are from X-Twin Planes. These are powered by N-FET IRLML2502 Mosfet in SOT23 Package. A 1S 100mAh Lipo delivers the power for about 1,5 minutes. A Buck/Boost converter provides the 3,3V for the Atmega328p. The Atmega runs at 16Mhz. The Gyro is a ITG3205 on a "breakout" Board. On the PCB is already a place for an ADXL345 ACC. Here some Pictures:

Femto Receiver Deltang RX35 0,62g:

The Weight of all ( with Lipo ) is 19,6g. It´s a bit heavy. I use a 1,5mm PCB. The next PCB is ony 1mm and the Gyro will be directly placed on the PCB without the "breakout" Board. So i think the weight will be under 18g and the flight time will increase.

Looks great, really nice work, but for those that have no clue what all those components are and how small they are, do you think you could include some sort of size reference either in the photo, or a stat that tells people what the prop to prop dimension is?? Are the props sized like normal props? Do you fly it x style or + style??

Thanks

Awesome!

Thanks for showing us!

I think that just getting it to hover stable is an accomplishment. Very very impressed.

Check these ones out... smaller than a cd/dvd...

I was thinking of picking up the mqx blade control board (about 30-40 bucks) then using popsicle sticks, make a small mount and four motors, voila, uber small quad.

My next project after my 500mm quad I'm doing now.

Quads are so much fun... ack... I still love planes though.

Here is my winter project.. it's nearly finished.. I hope it flies.. It's a little heavy at +- 1300g with battery. But that was expected anyway..
37cm between front and rear motors, and 35cm between left and right motors.
Just need to throw some paint at it and test the flight controller (Multiwii), then up she goes
