Hey guys,

I have a problem getting the smartieparts board run on my mac. When I plug the board in and have a look at the system log it says:
Dec 20 14:44:25 localhost kernel[0]: USBF: 79636.586 [0xffffff8013e92200] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 1 of Hub at 0x4000000)
Dec 20 14:44:28 localhost kernel[0]: USBF: 79639.596 [0xffffff8013e92200] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device.
Dec 20 14:46:18 localhost kernel[0]: USBF: 79749.635 [0xffffff800eba9200] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 2 of Hub at 0x6000000)
Dec 20 14:46:21 localhost kernel[0]: USBF: 79752.649 [0xffffff800eba9200] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device.

Can anyone help me please???

Thanks!

Oh btw I´m a "average mac user" so I´m no pro with programming n stuff. I run mac os 10.8.2
And sorry for my poor english!

Try changing your USB cable, and checking the USB header is properly connected to the SP board.

Have you got the radio turned on? The latest versions don't draw power from the usb.

Actually no. I tried to flash with the backside disconnected. I ordered the 9x and the board in spring. The board is, I think rev 2.2.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I contacted Steve from Smartieparts and we figured out that one of the wires that go to the usb header was switched, I corrected that. Now I tried to flash the TX with epee. Now I get the following message:

avrdude initialized and ready to follow instructions

reading ######### 100% 0.0s

avrdude: device signature= 0x000000
avrdude: Yikes! invalid device signature

double check connections and try again or use -F to override this check

Steve told me to ask here since he is only able to give hardware support.
What´s the problem?

Thanks

Hardware problem ;)

Usually either you did not power up the radio, or you have a bad connection between the programmer board and the radio mainboard pads.

By powering up you mean switching the tx on with battery and the backside case connected?

Yes! The latest SP board version needs the radio to be powered.

Hi,
I've contacted Steve who asked me connector photos. My problem isn't cables of the connector.
Steve is trying to solve my problem.

Thank you.
