Correct. While the logo is displaying... The routines have not yet loaded to initialise the module!

But then he's not correct.

Best to turn off the splash if you're going to bind... Otherwise yku have to hold the trainer switch until after the splash dissapears, and the bind light on the rx is solid.

How is he not correct?

Hold for 1-2 seconds after the logo.. Then release.

Although... I do agree. I usually turn off my logo as easier to get it right!

You want TAER. For the spektrum systems.

You have to assign a function to each channel, right now you have a blank slate.

You could start with a basic 4ch template and build from that. (select a model - long right press, then select the model setup menu > right , keep goign right until you get to the templates, if you don't have templates, then .. oopise. in teh templates is a 4ch basc setup, try that)

And make sure you have TAER for spektrum, and I bet Rob just beat me to the post again...

Yeah, but hanging out on openrcforums.com is a blast , helping people and confusing them while entertaining them is great... and I'm at work... bored, and miffed at the dx4e issue I have now... maybe it does do dsmx, but I can't get it to chirp into it's mode. it goes to france mode, regular mode and dsm2 mode.. but when I try dsmx.. nada... maybe it's just me... *shrugs*

European footbal is awesome, I follow it a bit.

There is no chirp in DSMX mode.

Easy way to confirm that it is working:
Bind a DSM2 only receiver.
Switch to DSMX mode (same model memory).
Bind to a DSMX capable receiver

If DSMX mode worked then the first receiver will no longer connect.

Now bind the DSM2 receiver and the DSMx one will stop working.

You can also tell by how the receiver behaves if you cycle its power with the transmitter still on. In DSM2 mode the LED will flash to indicate that it thinks it has had a brownout.
Brownout detection is part of the quick reconnect function. If it finds the transmitter on the same pair of frequencies as it was previously then it assumes that a brown out has occurred.

DSMX mode does not support this simple brownout detection because the frequencies are always changing, so no flashing LED.

One limitation of using the DSMX mode - if you mix and match DSM2 and DSMX in your models you will have to rebind whenever you switch between them.
The module stays in whatever mode it was last bound, even if you switch model memories and/or the mode setting. The module stores the mode based on the last successful bind.

Well things are working ALMOST...left and right on the quad are reversed. I have tried INV on ALE and ELV and it seems to have no effect. I haven't tried the rudder control yet. It should be the YAW. But overall, flying my mini quad with the er9x is GREAT. I bet the boys at the hobby store will be impressed about my 'cheep Chinese' TX now.

The "chirp" comes from the beeper in the DX4e, not the module. :)

yes, that's what I am using though. a dx4e. with the module in it.. I tested it with the ar9000, and it works (remember the issue I had about the channel jitter) so it's not the ar9000's I have.

WIll be ripping it apart (still no dsx mode) *shrugs* and see if it still works with the ar9000. I am not giving up.

:D

Soo our wonderfull little boxes will chirp, sing, complain about the flying weather.. etc...

I think the online manual might have the stick directions for entering DSM2 only and DSMx backwards.

Leo: I'd be interested in your micro Corsiar eepe. I just got one in a trade and never flew a plane before. It would be good to be able to peek at your settings.

Could you explain this a bit more? :?

Reversing the servo output for the aileron channel is pretty much exactly the same as moving the stick the other way.
You could also do it by changing the sign of the mix%, but again that should be the same as using the INV function on the limits screen.
(Both at the same time will cancel each other.)

If the mQx can fly with the BNF transmitter then there is no reason it should not work correctly with the 9X.

Thats what I thought also Pat but the inv does not seem to do a thing on the quad in the X configuration. I will try to put it into the + configuration and see if it helps. Also the YAW is reversed.
