Saving New Splash Screen to HEX file

Post by excelpoint »

Hi guys. I have modified a Splash screen and want to load it onto my TX but when I hit "Save to HEX" I don't seem to have any HEX files to save it to. Do I need to download something or download my TX into epee? Totally new to this so please bare with me.
Thanks,
Matt

You would need to save it to the er9x.hex file and flash that to your transmitter.

I tried this last night, created an xbm 128x64 and included in using eepe.

It wrote successfully to my 9x, but does not replace the er9x splash.
The menus are also garbled characters. I am using the vanilla er9x binary, and eepe is the latest version as it was yesterday.

What am i missing?

New version of eepe.

Start eepe, on the top menu, there will be a new icon, on the right top that will open up a replace splash dialog.
You now can look at the splash of you hex file or load a graphic to replace the splash screen in the hex file.
It's straight forward, you can navigate to whatever directory your images are in.

Just make sure the graphics you load are 2bit, amy more than that you will get random pixels on the loaded image.
(i'll post a sample later)

Compiler way... don't ask me how, I just got the info off er9x google pages
Not sure what an xbm file is... not a computer guru, but mine worked with a BMP or bitmap file but limit it to 2 bits.

Still looking for more

XBM files are required only, if you replace the original s9xsplash.xbm file in the code and compile it.

To replace the splash screen with eePe, you use black and white Bitmaps (bmp)

Could you upload the bitmap here?
What version of the firmware have you tried to save the screen to?
