with the latest er9x code my 9X only shows 1.2 volts on the screen. I know the battery is Li.fe battery changed and outputting 9.5v. did I mess up the CPU pin soldering job? the TX and RX still work well. just wrong voltage.
can I turn the voltage display off and rely on knowing the battery has 9.5v?
I tried to calibrate the battery but I could not change the numbers in the ANA screen on the er9x rom more than a few .1 points.
Ideas?
low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
I soldered the 5v and GND to my smartieparts board along with the MSIO pins for the FrSky lite module for the 232 conversion. could that be a problem?
Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
What version of the firmware did you load?
I think you should have connected the module power wires to the pins for the module bay. It is possible you are over loading the main regulator. Have you measured the main board voltage?

Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
i downloaded the latest stable Frsky stable 708 from the gcode site. i would think that the radio would not power up on 1.2v but I can check. I will also re-route the wires powering the Frsky lite to the same pins as the frsky DHT module and check again. where would you suggest that I measure the main board voltage?
Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
NOOOOOO.. the frsky lite takes 5V and the DHT takes battery voltage.. hope I wasn't too late...
O maybe I didn't understand your post??

Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
yeah. frsky lite getting 5v from the smartieparts board. ill double check that im moving it to the main board on a 5v connection
Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
Yea powering the 'Frsky lite' from the smartie board should be fine. for some reason I was thinking you had a DIY and were powering that from there too. The 9x shouldn't power on with only 1.2V. Maybe you have shorted the voltage divider that tells the m64 what the battery voltage is.

Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
with how SMALL those pins on the cpu were i might have shorted something if that pin is close to those two unused ones that are hooked up with the telemetry install
the DHT module is installed to the main-board power and its working well.
if its just a short in the reporting of the battery voltage is there any way to turn OFF the display of the voltage on the main screen? i have already hooked up a balance plug voltage monitor as a backup

Re: low voltage after Frsky Telem mod.
yeah. thats the one i used. except for getting 5v for the lite power from the smartieparts board.
