Smartieparts drivers

er9x is the best known firmware. It has a superb range of features and is well supported by the community. Well worth trying out.

Smartieparts drivers

Post by Rad »

Hi friends.

A friend of mine needs er9x in his old turnigy m64 radio, and I am having trouble to flash it. I have a basic 9x programmer that I used several times in the past, but this time I cannot make it work.

I thought of a computer drivers problem, but I connected my 9xtreme and my 9xr Pro and both work flawlessly, so I wonder if it might be a smartieparts driver issue.

I checked the website but it no longer exists. Do you know where can I download the drivers? Thanks!

The smartieparts programmer is just a USBASP programmer, so you just need to do a search for "USBASP drivers".

The 9Xtreme and the 9XR-PRO both use erskyTx (not er9x) and use built in drivers.

Oh yes, I forgot to say I am using Eepe.

The error I am getting is: avrdude.exe: error: could not find USB device "USBasp" with vid=0x16c0 pid=0x5dc

=================================================================================
AVRDUDE done - exit code 1
====================

I installed the USBASP drivers with zadig 2.9 but still not working... Hummm...

EDIT: The turnigy radio has pads compatible with the programmer.

Oh man, problem solved. With Zadig I swapped the drivers to Lilusb win32 and it worked.

Thanks again for your time.

I've dug out a USBASP!
When I plug this in to my PC (Windows 10), I get the tones indicating a USB device is connected, do you get this?
Looking in "Devices and Printers" I see a device "USBasp", do you see this?
Right clicking on this and selecting "Properties" I go to the "Hardware tab and select "Properties", a new window pops up.
In this window I select the "Driver" tab and see:
Driver Provider libusb-win32
Driver Date 02/08/2012
Driver Version 1.2.6.0

Do you see this driver?

Too slow, I see you have installed this driver!

Yeah, for some reason I had newer drivers. The device was recognized but it did not work until I installed the Lilusb. One problem less.

The only thing is I had an issue after flashing: I was removing the right screw from the programer when I sliped the screwdiver and removed the component C5 from the smartieparts board.

That thing was too tiny to be found. Do know know what is the name of it, so I can order a packet of 400 on aliexpress for only solderig one? Lol

I've never had a SP board so can't help directly.
Is it an original SP board, with the backlight driver, or the later, small board?
