Switches (real) Throttle and Ail D/R

tgy9x is a fork of er9x, and is the default firmware that is released by hobbyking on the Turnigy 9XR transmitter.

Switches (real) Throttle and Ail D/R

Post by stotty1111 »

Hi all
A vain hope, a model club member has just acquired a Turnigy 9XR running ER9X in french.
He is trying to test the various switch functionality, he has a problem testing the THROTTLE and AIL D/R ones.
Anyone point him via me how to do it, he has a copy of the ER9X manual in french, and I have copies of the original 9XR and the english ER9X ones.
It's probably me being stupid but cannot find them therein!!
Thanks in advance
Tony

The THR and AIL switches are the ones involved in the telemetry mod, where they may be wired to other pins on the processor.
1. Is there a programmer (USBASP?) connected internally, this can stop the switches working?
2. Has the telemetry mod been done? If not, but telemetry firmware is flashed then the switches won't work.
3. What is displayed on the VERSION screen.

Looking at release files I don't think I've built a French version that doesn't expect the telemetry mod to have been done.

I have an TGY9x with ER9x version of v825
Holding the left horizontal trim switch to the left when powering on enables the hardware menu in radio setup.
There is the option for "Frsky Mod Done".
This activates or deactivates the two switches according to Frsky mod done or not.

Very confusing, I'm not sure the firmware version actually on there.
The only release file with that specific date and time is the standard er9x, in English that doesn't support telemetry. It is actually r821, but does report r820.
The only version that is released in French includes telemetry support, but the release file for that version is timed at 13:42:30.
Given the version shows Mod FRSKY NT, the firmware appears to expect the telemetry mod to have been done (NT is No Templates), which would explain why the THR and AIL switches don't work.

I wonder how er9x got on the Tx in the first place, is anything wired to the pads by the CPU?
