9XR Pro tx with Orange module, and Spectrum AR6100 rx

Post by stotty1111 »

I have a 9XR Pro tx flashed with ERSky etc works fine with Orange rx's. I have been given a couple of Spectrum AR1600 rx's.
I am struggling to get them working, have tried various configurations all to no avail, can't get them to bind.
Will they bind? How should the tx be set up to achieve this?
I have successfully bound other non Orange rx's previously.
Any help greatfully accepted!

I've changed the title for you!
According to a manual I just viewed, this is a DSM2 parkflyer receiver, so you need to select DSM2 for binding.

Have just been playing around with the pieces -- and got it working, now to test it in a boat at the pond over the weekend.
Will give some feedback next week!
Thanks for pointing me Mike!

Ok, after thinking i had bound the system, at the pond it all fell apart, the boat mounted system when turned on(after the tx) started to hunt - the speed controller started up shut, down and it cycled like that. Tried rebinding, no change. so I abandonned the silliness.
THe Pro protocols were played with, all to no avail.
Said protocols Pos polarity tried neg also to no avail, external module on DSM2 6 channels, dsm type 9xr-dsm should that be dsm2 only? I'll give it a test here!
The orange module is one designed, I think, for the 9xr pro
thoughts please!

Best answer I can give is to make sure you have the telemetry COM port set to 1, and COM port 1 is inverted. The module (is it the type that uses the antenna in the handle?) sends protocol information to the Tx during the bind process. If the Tx doesn't see this, it doesn't set the correct protocol parameters.
You could try setting the protocol to PPM, then binding by powering on holding the bind button on the module pressed. That way, the module stores the protocol data.

It appears I've flashed all my modules with Multiprotocol firmware!

Cracked it, I had forgotten to setup the telemetry options, set now and the tx works smoothly, back to the pond later in the week to check it over!!
Again, thanks Mike, you're a life saver!! :-)
