Frsky antenna

Post by kaos »

I received my 40cm antennas, one from Alofthobby the other one from HK. The one from alofthobby has a tip with a thin expose tip just like the Frysky antenna I know of. But the one from HK actually has a thing like a boda anetenna before the thin exposed tip. Is this for a different version of Frysky rx?

A wild guess. Was the one from HK a 60 cm antenna? The long ones are set up like that. Interchangeable with the other antennas.

The decoupling sleeve should actually make that antenna more efficient, more gain.

Interesting, I have a bunch of spare 15, 40 and 60cm antennas (all from HK a couple of months ago), they're all like the top one (no ground sleeve)

New version then... wonder if we'll start seeing that on the receivers!

I wonder if it really enhance the reception /Tx. if not, I would prefer the simple one. ;) May be it does enhance the telemetry data back to Tx.
any one can test this thing?

A coaxial antenna (often known as a coaxial dipole) is a particular form of a half- wave dipole antenna.
Without the decoupling sleeve the coax shield is the wrong length at the feed point. The sleeve decouples the coax shield from being part of the antenna and the coax becomes a transmission line only and the exposed tip and sleeve become the 1/2 wave antenna and in turn the gain goes up and radiation and reception should improve over just having the center wire as the 1/4 antenna.
Look up coaxial antennas for more detailed explanation.
