Screenshots always help ;)

YOU ARE NOT INSTALLING IN TERMINAL, you got to get it running.

You stop here

Why?????

You have to start the SKRIPT in terminal by typing the SKRIPT name in terminal and just do a CR.

I love Linux. Prefer it to windows for my music work, but I wish it was way easier to work with most of the times. :)
I use Ubuntu Studio by the way :)

Kalle,
Sorry, I meant "open in terminal" not "install in terminal"

I tried following your further instructions, however, I get the "command not found" notification.
Screenshot attached.

Jim..

Just one more try. If it does not work, I will desist!

Success!
The problem appeared to be because I was saving the files in external storage. As soon as I shifted them over to my main drive and tried again, it worked.
Can I create a launcher for the desktop now?

Thanks very much for your patience Kalle!

Jim, that is good news. :D

But let me say, creating a launcher or starter, that are very basic things in Linux and in LM. Why not invest some $ in a book

https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=linux+min ... _sb_noss_1

or even better Jim, join the LM forum

https://forums.linuxmint.com/

It is a very active forum and you will get competent answers fast

They have a chapter for questions like that. ;)

Kalle,

I have been subscribed to the Linux Mint forum since New Years Day 2014, the day that I first downloaded and tried Linux Mint (16?). I have never looked back since.
I would not be functioning in Linux Mint without them. I have around 1000 posts there.
Life without the forums? (Horror!).
Thanks for the tip though and for all your assistance.
I will look for the launcher thread. I'm sure I must have done it before for another application, so I expect I just need reminding.

Jim.

Did not want to offend you Jim.
But the main topic here is oXs. ;)

See you in one of those Linux forums.

That's fine Kalle, no offence taken.
I have just succeeded in flashing an arduino nano, after many hours of trying. The fix to the problem was to change over to the old bootloader in the Arduino IDE settings. The Blink example loaded immediately without error, so I went ahead and loaded the openXsensor, also succesfully.
I can now look forward to installing the flashed board into my IC powered plane and testing out the RPM function.
Thanks to all who have assisted, especially Kalle!

Hello,

I'm testing the configurator. Two problems have come to my attention.
The first problem is, if I call the saved Curr_Volt_Tmp_Vario_SPort.ini again, the field VCC is not selected, although I saved this parameter.
See picture:
openXsensor configurator V1.0.2.png
The second problem is:
When I try to transfer the previously created configuration to openXsensor, I get this error message:
openXsensor _ Arduino 1.8.1.png
If I try to transfer the configuration under oXs_config_advanced.h

#define SENSITIVITY_MIN_AT_PPM 10
#define SENSITIVITY_MAX_AT_PPM 40
#define SENSITIVITY_PPM_MIN 20
#define SENSITIVITY_PPM_MAX 100

insert, the scetch is compiled to the end.

I think that's two bugs.

thanks best regards
Robert

Thanks for reporting those bugs.

I put on github a new version of the configurator that, I hope, fix the 2 issues.

Let me know if it still does not work.

I will of course, and very soon. I am building an airplane with my son, and we will need an oXs or two.
I know this is probably not the right place to ask this, and I am being lazy, but.... :)

Can oXs measure 2 different 3s batteries and send the cells from one and the other in different fields? Also the total voltage for each of them? Thanks
Thank you for all mstrens.

One single oXs can not measure and transmit the individual cell voltages of 2 lipo.
It could send the 2 total voltages in 2 different fields (e;g. one in Temp1 and the other in Temp2).

To achieve transmitting individual cells for 2 lipo, you need
- 2 oXs (one for each lipo)
- a common ground
- change the device ID (for voltages) in one of the 2 devices (the change has to be done in the oXs_config_advanced.h file)

Thank you, let's see how ErskyTX handles the 2 different IDs.. I never needed to measure the cells from 2 batteries before. But I might have to use two batteries on this plane. One per motor. will see.
Thanks again.

Hi, would like to ask a question about the Configurator.

After years doing the oXs configuration with an editor, had a little deeper look at the Configurator.

MPX + GPS.

With oXs ver. 8.0.6 those were the MPX outputs
10 , GPS_COURSE , 1 , 1 , 0 , -16384 , 16383 , \
11 , GPS_SPEED , 1 , 1 , 0 , -16384 , 16383 , \
12 , GPS_ALTITUDE , 1 , 1 , 0 , -16384 , 16383 , \
13 , GPS_DISTANCE , 1 , 1 , 0 , -16384 , 16383 , \
14 , GPS_BEARING , 1 , 1 , 0 , -16384 , 16383
Trying the same with the Configurator in oXs 8.2.14 I see this here

Image

For me, the Configurator in FrSky mode seems to do, what is required.
But what is with MPX, Graupner and Jeti? What is tested, were are the limits, what is still 'beta'?
