OpenTX version 2.3 Discussion Thread

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

OpenTX version 2.3 Discussion Thread

Post by pafleraf »

Good morning everyone!

As we are moving forward towards the 2.3 release, more tests are needed. As of now, all the supported targets have been opened to the nightlies and it seems we already have something working quite nicely.

There are still a couple of minor things to come, but the binary format is now settled, Companion and all the radio firmwares should be working with it (including proper conversions from 2.2.x). The times have come to now fix everything we can find and finalise the release.

As this is still in beta state, it is a good idea to backup everything you have on 2.2 before testing on the 2.3 branch. For those already on nightlies (new radios), doing backups is still a good idea, so you can always revert to the previous working state in case something slips through the QA.

Please remember that you have to configure "Use nightly builds" in Companion (Settings / Application settings).

i did the same on my Sky9X rev 3.0 with no success, i can't access sd card anymore, i had troubles in sd card filling (errors with missing russian files for speech announces)
more difficult is ther is no way to bind in page 2 in multimodule RF, can't reduce power either and lower page for internal module is fully blank (empty)

if i try to select ppm instead of multimodule RF radio reboots each time

so maybe i wrongly updated firmware to 2.3.1 but back to V2.2 except internal ppm2 which isn't supported everuthing works back

I think your radio is not being supported by OpenTX anymore. I suggest you try ErskyTX (former Ersky9X).

Yes, but as far as I know, they aren't developing for it anymore.. Not sure if they are even fixing bugs. This only someone from the team could answer.

Only AVR-based radios are officially out of support.
But nobody in the team has a sky9x radio anymore so while we try not to break things it's hard to check we actually don't.

Also if nobody makes us aware of it we can't guess... So please open issues on gihub if you have some.
I've logged the calibration one but please do it for the others.

Don't know if this is the correct forum, but, will ask. I have been looking at the 2.3.2 nightlies SD Card downloads and don't see one listed for the taranis x9d+. All that is listed is for the taranis x9. Does the x9 work on the x9d+? Or are they just not providing a nightlie for the x9d+?

All radios with the same screen size use the same pack.

"All radios with the same screen size use the same pack." Not knowing which radios have the same screen size leaves the question open. Am I to assume that the x9 labeled nightly does indeed work with the x9d+?
