9XR Pro not being detected in any simulator

Post by vtgrx »

I connected my 9XR Pro to Phoenix and Realflight via JR port using this cable https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1pcs-4I ... 4c4d4wgkBl
However, my TX is not being detected in either of the sims. I also tried connecting it through the FMS cable but that is not being recognised by my PC maybe de to lack of drivers.

What firmware do you have on the Tx, and what revision?
1. Is the radio operating in "student" mode, (power on just by plugging in the trainer cable)?
2. With ersky9x revision 221 and later, the USB port operates as a joystick when the radio is running normally.

As far as I know Phoenix only works with the original TX that is supplied with the sim, to avoid piracy..

Phoenix comes with a dongle for the trainer port that enables your transmitter to plug into the USB port. The dongle provides copy protection.

No dummy transmitter is supplied, though they did used to sell a package of Phoenix with a DX5e.

I thought they still supplied the TX.

So, anyway, that dongle might not work with Phoenix as it only accepts the original one as far as I know..
Or, the dongle might only work with older versions of the simulator.. The description mentions Phoenix 2.5. I don't know what the current version is..

9XR Pro not being detected in any simulator

Post by Daedalus66 »

Phoenix appears to have been discontinued since earlier in 2018. The last version was 5.5. Version 2.5 is several years old.

As far as I know, the dongle works only with Phoenix. I have a dongle from version 1 and it still works with version 5.

Edit: I’m referring to the Phoenix genuine dongle, not the Orange one mentioned above.

I was talking about the 3rd party dongle from aliexpress mentioned by the OP :)
That is not an original Phoenix dongle ;)

My friend has a X9D plus and it works with this 3rd party dongle with Phoenix. I am using ERSKY9X rev 221.

Try changing the polarity of the trainer output and/or reducing the number of channels below 8.

Please confirm you are plugging the trainer cable in WITHOUT switching the 'PRO on.

Yes, I plugged through the JR port without turning my TX on. I also tried master and slave node, I tried changing polarity as well.

Have you tried changing the "Delay" value from 300uS to 400uS?

Um, I am using the OpenTX firmware. I cannot find that option.

so I'm now confused!

I was using ERSKY9X back then. I then upgraded it to OpenTX to see if there are any changes but no luck. I don't know if it is a software issue, hardware issue or dongle issue.

Please confirm your friend's X9D Plus works with YOUR dongle, or does his work with his dongle and has not been tested with yours?
You could upgrade back to ersky9x so you may change the delay value as I suggested.

I will try using the X9D with my dongle and will let you know. Can you suggest me a good alternative to a dongle which will work 100% with the 9XR Pro?
