Mixes insert before or after

With a mix you have an option to insert before or after ,how does affect the out come of the mix please

In MIXES they are normally additive, although they can be changed to multiply or replace.
Replace does exactly that, it replaces all mixes before the mix that is replace.

This is not true in INPUTS. In INPUTS the first one that is true is the only one used.
