Hey,
I have a Taranis X9d (no plus) 2013?
I have set XJT_EU170317.frk (for EU) and OTX Bootloader 2.2.3,
On the Taranis internal itself, I only find the .bin and the .frk files.
on the screen i see "OTX Bootloader - 2.2.3"
But cannot open the .OTX file from the SD.
The old .bin files of the models are on the SD, which I can open.
Am I doing something wrong?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
Re: X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
Please say what you're actually trying to do.
.otx files are what companion uses to store model/setting data. They are not used on the radio.

Re: X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
When I save a model, this happens for example as document1.otx
I copy this to the SD, but cannot open it in the transmitter.
When I save a model programmed in the transmitter as a backup,
i find this model as an xxx.bin file on the SD.
I can open this file again without any problems.

Re: X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
what Kilrah said...
document1.otx is the format of data stored on your PC by Companion.
model.bin is the format stored on your transmitter by your transmitter.
The transmitter does NOT use or understand the *.otx format. Yes you can put it on the SD , but you can store most anything you want on the SD (like maybe some *.MP3s, word documents or spreadsheets), that does not mean the transmitter will understand it and/or be able to use it.

Re: X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
You must not manually mess with the model files at all.
Always use "Read models and settings form radio" to read things from radio into companion, do your changes, then "write models and settings to radio" to transfer that back to the radio.

I tried this, but it doesn't work between my X9D and my X9E.
Re: X9D (no plus) from .BIN to .OTX
It will when you make 2 radio profiles, one for each, and correctly select the one you're going to write to.
You absolutely must not transfer files between different radio types manually. Data is different, companion needs to convert it. This needs review afterwards due to different input control types.
