9XR Pro Manuals

Post by Mutchy »

The following manuals cover versions of the ErSky9xr firmware up to r204 except for '9XR Pro: Ersky9x Explained' which is current to r202. The initial batch of 9XR Pro radios have r202 version firmware installed. Updating the firmware is as easy as copying the updated firmware onto the SD card and then flashing it using the buttons on the radio. See "9XR Pro: Introduction to the Hardware". A revision for 9XR Pro: Ersky9x Explaned' to cover r204 will be posted when available soon. This revision will cover the 'Latch and 'Flip Flop functions plus the eight default voice switches in the Safety Switches menu.

Edit 6th June 2014: '9XR Pro: Using Voice with Ersky9x' has been revised to include the list of current voice files shipped with the 9XR Pro radio. The text has been altered to agree with the voice files listed in Appendix A. The URL for the Sound Pack Library has been added.

Edit 6th July 2014: '9XR Pro Ersky9x Explained' has been revised and is now current up to r204 of Ersky9x.

Edit 8th October 2014" "Appendix B: Hardware 8Oct2014" which covers using the 9XR Pro for more than 8 channels has been added to the list of manuals. This document is an appendix to "9XR Pro: Introduction to the Hardware" and should be read in conjunction with this document. I publish it separately here rather than included as a revision to the "9XR Pro:Introduction to the Hardware" manual so that it may be downloaded individually, is obviously an addition to the other manuals, and so that it may be treated and revised as an individual entity.

Edit 15th October 2014: Appendix B: Hardware12Oct2014 has been added. It is a revision by Daedalus66 which is highly appreciated. His clarity of expression adds immensely to the quality of the document.

Edit 6th January 2016: 9XR Pro Communicating with a Computer has been revised to include updated links to current firmware.

Thank you Mutchy. Because of you these manuals are clear and to the point. I wrote one for the 9XR and its on the files list
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... 891X49.pdf its near the bottom of the list "Quick guide to open tx".. You can tell I'm very proud of it as I want everyone to know what I've done. I found that it was hard not to publish before I had truly finished it. Any way, just want to say that these manuals are great and really make a difference.
your faithfully, Martin Wilson.

Post by Daedalus66 »

Those upgrading to version r214 or higher of Ersky9x will find useful the document posted here:

viewtopic.php?f=123&t=6810

It provides an outline of the new menu structure that should help you find your way around.

Just received a brand new 9XR Pro, purchased from HK.
I upgraded it to FW Revision 221, and found that the existing documentation is now a bit dated.
So, I decided to create my own.

In the hope it will be useful to others, I am posting my fisrt draft here.

BTW, Comments & suggestions welcome!

ER9X Calibration issues

I am facing this issue with ER9X. OpenTX works just fine. How do I calibrate it properly?

Not sure why all 4 pots seem to be behaving the same way.
I would not think all 4 pots to be bad, but they could all be bad.
You do have the stock 9XR-pro Gimbals (which have poor pots in them) ?

Hi,

From what I read on your screen, your radio is waiting for you to put the sticks and pots on the center position and press "Menu".

Once you do that, you will be asked to move the sticks (and pots) to the max and min position to set the travel.

Have a look at page 3 of the manual "9XR Pro First Steps with Ersky9x 2014-04-25.pdf" on this same thread

Yep, you are not doing the calibration correctly.. As the screen asks you to, first you have to center all sticks and press menu. Then the radio will ask you to move the sticks, and then press the menu key again when you are done..

That was a calibration issue. I was only setting the midpoints and not moving the sticks after that. Problem solved. Thank you everyone for your help.

Re: 9XR Pro Manuals

Post by iFeghali »

hello there

just bought my 9XR Pro with stock firmware. since all documentation here cover up to R204, what do you think is the best approach to get to know this radio. should I keep stock FW and read everything then update later or should I update it first and read docs with newest FW already in place ?

reason I'm asking is because I am not sure how different is the latest FW, so I am afraid I might get lost with docs for previous release.

thank you

In my opinion you should update now to the latest ersky9x firmware. 204 is really old.
There isn't still a specific ersky9x manual but if you download the er9x manual you can still get the basics of how to work with the radio. er9x is a very basic version of Ersky9x. Ersky9x which has more features and options of course. Any doubts, please ask in the forum... Firmware file and Er9x manual can be found at www.er9x.com
