ERSKY9X Coding

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

But a mix with any source is always active when the switch field is empty..
I still prefer the way the firmware currently works.. What I was suggesting to Mike was somehow changing the display to a less confusing one. Or find some other way, but certainly not losing the ability of having -100 and +100 at the same time.. :)

I'm in trouble please help.
My AR9X can't trim down on elevator.
Other controls are fine.
In DiagSwtch page, elev trim + shows 1.
I can trim down elevator when put cross trim on.
But then I can't trim up throttle.
I confirmed all trim switchs are open close properly.
Also in maintenance mode, I can't sellect menu.
I have no idea.

Is it only down elevator trim that doesn't work, or does up elevator trim also not work?

In maintenance mode, do the up/down buttons work to move the highlight up and down?

What revision of firmware are you using? I'm asking as if you have a recent test version with the Basic scripts available, I may be able to produce a script that will provide some information to help diagnose the problem.

Thank you Mike.
After this issue, I flash it by e3, e5, e6.
All of them doesn't help.
Thank you, please give me that script.
I'd like to try.

OK, I'll see what I can do. One more question first, when you use a trim, you should hear a beep, do you hear a beep when you use the down ELE trim.
Have you tried creating a new model and testing the ELE trim?

Also, has this ever worked, or is this a new installation of the AR9X board?

No beep on down trim, beep when up trim.
One day, elev trim run away all the way down.
Fortunatly, that ocurs when I set up telemetry page.
So, no damage on my fixed wing.
After that issue, no trim run away ocurs, just I can't trim down.
I don't understand, why on diagSwtch page elev trim + shows 1, others 0.
Eaven I set cross trim on.
Is this normal ?
I'm going make new model and check if elev trim works.
Thank you

I may have misunderstood. If, on the diagSwtch page, ele trim + shows 1 AT ALL TIMES, then this shows the ele trim down switch is stuck ON.
This would very likely explain why the up/down buttons don't work in maintenance mode.

The ELE trim switch connections are on J3, pins 7 and 9. You could try disconnecting these to see if:
a) DiagSwtch shows 0 on the ELE + place.
b) To help work out where the fault might be.

It does look like a stuck trim switch, or a short circuit on its circuit..

Or, the famous problem with some Ar9x boards. a short capacitor.
Please measure resistance across C25, C26, C4 and C24..

I am asking you to measure all capacitors because I don't know which mode you fly. you see, for example on mode 3 throttle is on the right side, and on mode 2 Throttle is on the left side.

Also, before you measure the caps, you could measure the resistance across the switch. If it is shorted, then disconnect the connector as Mike suggested and measure the resistance across the switch again. It it is still shorted, the switch is bad or stuck. if it is not shorted, then the problem is on the board, probably one of the caps I've mentioned above.

Removing white wire, purple, gray.
All were not change trim + value, still 1.
Trim switchs were normal, they open / close normaly.

Then if you removed the wire from the trim switch but it is still shorted (Showing 1) it looks like the short is on the board. Please read my post above..

c26 and c28 are infinity.
Others have some resistance value.
Are they 0.1uF ?

I told you were all J6.
And value is around 0.6 - 0.8k rohm.

Yes J6. Elevator Trim UP is on pin 9 and Elevator Trim DOWN is on pin 7 of the connector. With the connector unplugged, measure the resistance between those pins and pin 4 or 8 (board connector). they are both ground. See if there is a short.

Yes, it looks like it.. Lets hope that is the capacitor that is shorted and not the CPU pin.. Good chances are that the problem is the cap. This is not new on the Ar9x board. the latest production batch had some bad caps on many of the boards. Try removing it. The board should work OK without it.

Hi MikeB or João,

I have a club-mate who has an older 9XR radio (not Pro) - it has Ersky9x in it, but I'm not sure of the revision, as I haven't looked closely at it for him - maybe about v7xx (make sense???).

Can you point me to the latest 'released' version of ErSky for it and does that version support the FrSky S6R receiver configuration screens? Is this the link to the correct one on the Er9x site (ERSKY9X (revision 220) for SKY board and A9X board):

http://www.er9x.com/ersky9x_rom.bin

Thanks and Regards,
ozphoenix

edit: add link to primary suspect

The 9XR radio (not PRO) does not run Ersky9x, it runs Er9x.
You can find it at www.er9x.com

I am not sure er9x can configure the S6R.
Ersky9x for sure can.

Thanks, João - I'll point him there.

Then, the second part of the question still exists, for MikeB.

BTW - my club-mate went home today (after reviewing my gear) and ordered an S8R and the STK tool (I think he should have made a cable and used Mike's instruction without the STK, but that's another story). So, he's keen to update and upgrade :)))

Thanks, again - now waiting for Mike's comment.

The hardware of the 9XR (not PRO) doesn't support sending SPort data, so er9x cannot support configuring the S6R/S8R receivers.

João and Mike.
I'm still in trouble with down elevator trim.
I removed c25 cap, J6's 7 and 8 pin has been open now.
But elevator trim + still shows 1.
Is this mean something bad on cpu ?
CPU TEMP shows normal TEMP, about 30-35C.
I've been knoked down.
