The power plug on the 9x is an invitation for trouble. A brick waiting to happen. This mod is pretty simple even for those (like me) with modest soldering skills.
I normally leave the existing connection in place, then simply solder a servo lead to the power lines on the back board. Run the lead into the battery bay - job done!Scott Page wrote: The power plug on the 9x is an invitation for trouble. A brick waiting to happen. Had to isolate one ground pin on the pcb, used as 3.7v tap now
I've wondered the same thing. Did earlier versions have a different plug?Ozzy wrote:The standard connector on my two er9x radios have 3 pins, ground-positive-ground (I checked the PCB). If somehow you manage to jam the connector in flipped 180 degrees, the polarity is still correct. What am I missing?
Thanks
