Not sure if you are still following this thread, hope so. Just want to thank you for creating the SportToHub code.
I'm an old vintage surface guy and I love my 80's transmitters, but hate dealing with crystals and finding matching receivers. So let's upgrade to 2.4Ghz and lipos (yes, was still using NiCads, don't go there...) I got a FrSky DHT module, D8R-XP receiver, sensor hub, lipo sensor and FLD-02 display. Should all work, shouldn't it?
Pretty much, except the Lipo sensor I got was the Smart Port version(FLVSS) and the hub version(FLVS-01) by now is nowhere to be found (at the time had no clue about differences and compatibility between SPort, D8 and D16 stuff). So no cell voltages on the FLD-02 display.
After a lot of googling, trying different things, wasting money, I finally came across this thread. Bought a pro mini, programmed it with your code, did some soldering and Bingo! Finally have lipo cell voltages on my FLD-02 display from a SPort lipo sensor! Awesome! So thanks again, what a great project, genius!

You could have purchased the: (FBVS-01) sensor,

Purchasing the FrSky XJT module (https://alofthobbies.com/frsky-xjt-jr-g ... odule.html) would also give you more options,
as it will work in D-Series and X-Series receivers and sensors.

I guess the original purpose of my project doesn't fit into this forum, which was simply to upgrade my vintage Futaba pistol grip wheel transmitters to 2.4Ghz. Nothing new, I know, many How-To's for the DHT DIY module available and other forums exist for that part.
So using the XJT JR based module was not an option (although I was able to fit one externally to a vintage Futaba wheel radio, but that's another project). So I was stuck with the D-based transmitter module and subsequently D-based receivers.
But as Mike mentioned in his first post, D8/Hub based sensors are becoming very rare, some more than others, and many available now are only Smart Port based sensors, like the FLVSS lipo sensor. And that's why Mike created the SportToHub code. So I just posted this to thank Mike for his project and show that it works great as I have not found other implementations of his code.
You're right, I could have used a FBVS-01 voltage divider for total voltage, but I really wanted to see individual cell voltages on the FLD-02 display (the heart wants what it wants ).
So as far as transmitter and firmware, it's a very old Futaba wheel transmitter with a FrSky DHT 2.4GHz module with whatever firmware it came loaded with.
Hope that clarifies things, further comments/questions welcome. (Dang, I need to stop writing these long-winded posts!)

I have 5 old rpm sensors and using a 8xr receiver with smart port can I use these with out the hub and if so how.

The old RPM "sensors" are a simple light-sensitive resistor, the hardware to read them was part of the hub.
You could use an openXsensor.
