Yes of course.. Give it a couple years and Frsky will go the same way.
Futaba was once what frsky is now. But those were other times of course :)

Internal FrSky telemetry module with new IXJT protocol

I was not able to find any information about the IXJT and the protocol. Is it only a marketing claim or is there a technical background? Is the XJT-firmware still usable, or will there be a new one?

The module is different, communication between mainboard and module is different, and firmware is thus different.

Just to be sure: if you flash an update from FrSky, will this update your IXJT too?

The first charge on my new Production Horus took forever, in fact I became convinced it was not going to end at all! I cannot give charge time as I had to do other things inc overnight so turned the charger off and unplugged it at least three times before it achieved stop charge.

It was however FAR FAR longer than six hours. I did not do anything with it until it had been charged, so maybe avoided the red "battery exhausted?" LED.

After several cycles left on to below half bars and then charges (typical in use operation) it now appears to be ending charge OK, and dropping indication normally with use (again, many hours, under test I gave up a duration test on my Dev at over 8 hours!!) and now for about the same charge time as my Dev Horus, i.e. SLOW!

First charge from 'low battery' warning on my Horus 'production' (sort of ...) also took in excess of 11hrs and that was with a previously cycled battery. Strange.
The simpleton asked "Hows about ErSky9X for Horus???". And the Genius from Dorset replied "Why not indeed? I shall get right onto it!" And then there was light on Horus! And it was good!

Same here. After a while sounding low battery alarm I decided to charge. It started around 22h00 and the next morning around 11am, it was still green. The light should go off right, like the taranis.

Today i charged mine and finally all went well. It took about 8 hours and the green light went off. I think it needs some cycles to work well.

The bars are an indictation that can be adjusted, and as mentioned they could be adjusted wrong.

Look at the voltage.

Yup, I bet this is your problem. On mine, the top of voltage range in OpenTX didn't match what the Horus battery. To calibrate this, get a servo cable and a multi-meter. Here's the detailed version of what I do to be extra cautious and not short circuit anything.
  • Use a servo cable (male-to-male)
  • Plug one end onto the bottom three pins of the JR module bay. I put the "signal" wire of the servo cable on the bottom. That makes the center (red) wire ground, and the black wire (+batt)
  • Tape down the other end of the servo cable so the pins are facing up and visible.
  • Remember that + and - are reversed, so use the positive test lead of your DMM on the black servo wire, and the negative test on the middle servo wire.
With the "external" module turned on, the multimeter reads battery voltage. When both "internal" and "external" modules turned off, I read 6V on the multi meter. If you measure this with a fully charged battery you should know what the top of your range should be.
