Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
I recently bricked one of my 9XR pros, followed the instructions to unbrick and got it back running. It is up and running r217 but I can't get this thing to read any SD cards. I tried a card from another radio and I even tried another break out board and no dice. Usually plugging it into a computer shows the 2 drives but this only shows 1. Any ideas? Oh and I don't know if it is related or not but my ail switch shows that it is toggled on at all times. Should I brick it again lol?

For the AIL switch, check all the connectors are firmly plugged in to the main board.
For the SD card, press UP LONG, then RIGHT until you get to the SD STAT screen. What is displayed there?

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
I will try that first thing. Need to charge it up. And I hit the reset button after getting some strange behavior from it. Didn't know it would wipe everything lol.
Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
What kind of strange behavior you were getting? I'm asking because it could give some clues about what is happening now.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
I wonder if 1, or more, pins on the processor are not properly soldered.
The AIL switch is on pin 67 (pin 1 is on the 'bottom' row at the end closest to the SD card). There are 25 pins on each side, so pin 67 is on the top row, pin 51 on the right.
Using a pin or a needle, gently try to push pin 67 sideways (some optical magnification is useful). If the pin moves, it isn't soldered properly.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
pins in the cpu look good. wasn't sure if any of the pins had anything to do with the sd card so I tried to check them all. is it possible to reinstall the bootloader without the sd. I understand how to load the firmware from my desktop.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
When you use SAM-BA to flash the firmware, the bootloader is flashed at the same time.
What version does your bootloader show?
I suggest you try flashing the latest (test) version of ersky9x from this file "ersky9xProvR219l.zip", found here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676#p65894. You need the file ersly9xr_rom.bin.
Can you measure the voltage on the AIL switch with it in both positions?

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
I will try flashing to latest. I should do it to all my radios anyways. I will test the pins when I get a chance. My meter is at work.

I suggest we concentrate on the AIL switch to start with. Please measure the voltage on the switch with it in both positions.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
don't have access to my multi meter at the moment but out of curiosity I wired a in an led. the ail pin to ground lights up. gear to ground, nothing, trainer to ground nothing and so on. Don't know if that helps at all.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
Prompted by a problem on an AR9X board, I have been testing the SD card operation. I have found that if I remove the SD card from a running radio, then plug it back in, it fails to fully initialise, sticking at "Not Ready 0003" on the SD CARD STAT screen.
I will investigate this as it may solve the problem from earlier in this thread.

Re: Lost SD Card support after a bricking it
I've fixed the problem I saw with the SD card not restarting if it was removed and replaced with the power on. I've posted a test version here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676&p=65894#p65894.
