Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Looks very nice and has some nice features like touchscreen, double power switch, 2 two position and 2 tree position switch, 2 spring loaded sliders at the top on both sides, two push buttons at the back, ps2 port, micro usb port, etc, etc...
I don't know about the electronics (haven't googled yet), but i know there is some development for its predecessor, the FS-i6.
I wonder if it will be possible to make custom software for this radio? I think it has great potential...i think!

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Had one in my hands some time ago and it was pretty nice, although obviously strongly "inspired" by DJI things both in looks and purpose...
Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Really?
Anyway, half of the work is done. It has usb interface suitable for updates, so custom firmware is only depending on the good will of you developers.
I asked the guy who did the video on how to remove the throttle spring about the processor type, but haven't got the answer yet.

It definetly is an ARM processor, but i cant tell which one, two internal antennas and lots of room for extra board, if needed.

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
I think my 9Xtreme has much more capability.
Looks to be vary limiting to me.
Where are the trim switches?
I am not looking to take a step down in RC radios.
But maybe I am just comparing it to a much better radios.

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
The lack of trim switches supports the idea that this is a radio specifically intended to work with a flight controller.

9Xtreme has more capability for sure. The good thing about this radio is its compactness. Obviously not good for planes.Daedalus66 wrote:The lack of trim switches supports the idea that this is a radio specifically intended to work with a flight controller.
My guess is that the trims are tuned on the screen itself since its touchscreen.

There is subtrim in the menus, but nothing you can actually use in flight. It was obviously made purely for multicopters and nothing else.

Yes, i noticed the subtrims.

I asked the guy who made the review about the trims and he replied that there is no trims, just subtrims.Kilrah wrote:There is subtrim in the menus, but nothing you can actually use in flight. It was obviously made purely for multicopters and nothing else.

I know, it wasn't a question. As said I've played with one a bit myself a couple of months ago.

Hi OctavioS,
You do not really want one of these very limiting toy radios ?

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Its is, in a way, but perhaps it's possible to add trim feature to be adjusted on the screen. And a trim lock feature to prevent accidental trim change. Obviously only if the light of the opensource software shines upon this radio.bob195558 wrote:Hi OctavioS,

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
What is it that makes this radio superior to a 9x with AR9x or 9Xtreme card and a fully mature ErSky9x firmware?
Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Probably nothing. It is only compact, has 2 way comunication, nothing special really. It has also usb interface and since somebody has started something for the FS-i6, which is the predecessor for this one, i just though it was convenient to open a topic for this one in the hopes that somebody also develops software for it. The FS-i6 is probably inferior to this radio and obviously inferior to the 9X with the juiced boards, but i dont see anybody asking that question there. Its not about superipority, its about something "else".Daedalus66 wrote:What is it that makes this radio superior to a 9x with AR9x or 9Xtreme card and a fully mature ErSky9x firmware?

Re: Flysky FS-i6S 2.4Ghz 6CH
Thanks. It was a genuine question. I thought maybe it had special attractions for the multirotor crowd. I have to admit the 9x is a bit staid.
