For me it was the Frsky rf upgrade and telemetry along with er9x that got me hooked over a year ago. The upgrades to read and program the telemetry from the 9x display made it all the better.
The new radio, if true, may have improved programming but if it doesn't have any telemetry options or improved failsafe RX I'm sure most of us with our current 9x setups will still use them. If the sticks are kept the same then no change for me.
Of course for many just the improved FW was and will be a big draw.
Ersky9x and all the choices of FW will still be a draw to those that want more.
Then ther's the Frsky TX rumor? That if it ever happens may have it all as far as telemetry and good rf link.
Exciting times ahead so I guess I'd better beef up my hobby fund.
I feel sorry for the big name brands if these radios do hit the market with many John end features at lower end prices.
So far I've enjoyed ever minute modifying and flying the systems I've modified. No crashes in over a year using er9x/Frsky builds, and so fsr the same for ersky9x.
I'm sure I'll explore the others when/if they hit the market if I can sell off a few of my systems to club members that can't solder.

make er9x firmware was a matter of years and lot of work still is development
when HK say "9XR" will have a similar FW then i think they just get er9x and modify it a bit, because i doubt they got some one programming it and then casually its similar to er9x... what you think guys?

There is no way to know right now. Anything would only be wild speculation and it really doesn't matter. When 9xr hits the streets it will be what it will be and only then we will know it's FW and hardware capabilities. I recommend not losing any sleep over it now.

If they keep a MEGA64 on it it will be missing out, it really should have at least a '128, twice as much flash and EEPROM, a '256 would be even better.

Just asking Mike if you can comment?
Has FlySky, Turnigy/HK, or Frsky ever contacted eraz, you or the other masterminds that made this a reality?
I'm asking more to see if any of them took advantage of a system designed by flyers for their future designs, or just kept it in house?
That alone will be a clue to the what any new system features and improvements will be.
I believe Frsky has been "pro active" and has grown because of reading our posts. Chase Woo has been active as I read older posts it seems.
Comment if you can and it's not to personal.
Gold mine of info and talant here is all I'm saying.

No one has been in contact with me, and I'm only aware of Erazz talking to FrSky regarding the PXX protocol.

No offence taken, hence the smiley face. I only do it for fun since I spend most of my non-flying time reading about flying anyway.

Only new info I've seen is Anthony confirm there are no sliders, on hobbyking forum
Can't wait for some photos of this thing.

What's interesting is the suggested price being less than the T9X is now?
Inflation is everywhere these days.
I have 2 FlySky's on order from Leaders. Mode 1 and a mode 2 just for spares or future builds. When I got on 1 bk order list 2 weeks ago I was # 1180 I think. A week later I was # 561, today something like # 468.
I assume the first hit was TX's that came in. The second hit/reduction could be cancellations due to the rumors?
I'm wondering, does leaders refund $ for cancellations or store credit on BO items?
Not a worry, just wondering.
My local club field is packed on weekends, standing room only (ha), so no trouble selling a new 2.4 in the box if I'm overstocked later. Many "don't do the Internet, or Ccards" so cash and carry works for them, and me to not lose my cost.
I don't want store credit so this is my best option if I get overstocked.

I have another 9x arriving in a couple of weeks.. A friend is bringing it as the customs here in Germany are stopping the radio from entering the country.. so my radio went for a travel around the world :D
If we had these 9xR rumours earlier I would probanly have waited because as they say it might be possible to flash er9x on them.. As you say, it should not be difficult to sell if it comes to that.. ;)

I've read reports on RCG that the customs kept everything.. However it seems that not all the customs do it.. the ones near where I live seem not to do it, but we never know.. I know of at least 2 cases where people lost their 9x's.. I also heard that they are keeping not only the 9x but also some other electronic stuff.. I really hope that frsky is not on their list and has a valid CE certificate.. apparently the 9x CE certificate is fake..
Oh, they don't care about the "Gifts" even because "Gift" in German means "Poison"

All these posts are helping a lot. I'm on the pre paid list on leaders for a 9x and the numbers keep getting lower, a few every day. Either leaders is getting a trickle of 9Xs or orders are being cancelled, humm?
In all due respect, Frsky has taken many months to get ant rumored or posted products available to buy and usually has a few uograded revisions following.
HK will be selling a totally new product, untested by our standards, and will be in great demand because it's new. How's their handling of the current big 9x ordering been working for us?
I'm sure the products will be available before the years end, but later instead of sooner. Meanwhile I hope to see the backorder numbers going down a little every day. Every day it's check to see if my stocks go up, and my leaders # go down.
After all I'll still need to pay for th 9x somehow.

Which is a bit strange since the flysky 9x CE certificate on the Flysky homepage is from a GERMAN notified body EMCC http://www.flysky-cn.com/Certificate/FS-TH9X.jpg

It is also officially FCC certified in the USA.

Well what I know, the original RF unit is apparently a fake of the above mentioned ...but the good news is FrSky is not stopped and they have no problem with them. The problem is you can not order the 9x without RF module ...and if the stop one piece the take the complete shipment.
And just before some one says to just cut it off, No you can not take your cutters and cut out the RF part. I do however know the customs will give you the option to ship it back to where it came from.
Now I just hope the new radio will have all the CORRECT papers, or at least a option to get it shipped with no RF module, or even better with a different RF module.

Here.. I knew it.. Now which one is valid?? Shouldn't someone call those numbers and ask?? Check the dates.. 4 days difference.. they probably realized that a German certificate couldn't possibly be signed by a chinese person, and made a new one 4 days later with a German name.. even the German phone numbers are the same.. FFAAAAAAKE.. and now it's proved.. thanks for posting that one..

Is that a handle or second screen at the top?
