Eepe, Trainer Setup:

PB1 and PB2 not on the list of switches as well as all switches after L6.

I would really like to use PB1 for training a complete beginner (my little son in this case), and as this push button is on the back of the radio right near one of my fingers, it allows me to get control back very quickly without even have to let go of any of the sticks :)
I know I can setup a logical switch (between L1 and L6) with PB1 as source and use it as trainer switch, but it would be nice if they could be available in the trainer switch list in the future. I know Developers hate this expression, but it would be much more "User Friendly"
Many people still struggle with logical switches and would never think of using them ;)

Another problem, when setting the weight for the trainer, it is not possible to use the computer keyboard to insert the number in eepe, and also when using the up and down arrows the weight changes in steps of 3 or so. Shouldn't it change in steps of 1?

Thanks

João

EDIT: I'm a bit confused.. As the trainer is a General setup and not model based, if I select a logical switch as a trainer switch, where do I have to setup that logical switch? in every model??
That would mean that for example, say, L1 could not be used for anything else on all the models?

Can't configure a switch in the trainer menu. Can only select 2 or 3 switches.
m128 with voice on LCD lines seems to work ok.

Will download the eeprom when I get home and see if I can program the trainer in eepe..

OK, About this problem.. I thought I had the latest test version on this radio.. It turns out I didn't :? :( I do apologize..

Downloaded the latest firmware for the m2561 and flashed it. I can now select a trainer switch again. So, this one is sorted. :)

Hi!

Where can I find older versions of "release" er9x? Is there a repository somewhere?
I need older (bug-free) version for a friend who will not be upgrading his m64 anytime soon.

Thanks.

The latest release you download using eepe should be bug free as far as I know.
If there is any bug found in the future you could update the firmware again using eepe. But I think there aren't any important bugs, if any at all ;)

Hi,

I just flashed my TH9x with latest er9x firmware with r819 frsky revision. I also have smartieparts hardware onboard programming board and 9x-telemetrez board. Telemetrez was flashed to r90 and option for telemetrez was enabled fw version in eepe. Unfortunately I was not able to remember what er9x version I had installed before that. It was quite old rev from 2013 when I flashed tx before this update. My frsky DJT module was working fine after this, but my trainer port with flysky USB simulator cable was not working anymore. Also I suspect that my orange tx module is not working due bad PPM. It seems to output some PPM signal through PPM simulator cable, but it is not following stick positions. I have tried several different settings with no success. I have made trainer port fix with resistor.

Could you please help me out with this issue ? What version I should go back to make this work again. I tried to go back to r817, but it did not help at all. Also noticed that menu is popping up for time to time without no key press.

Please try to go to Model Setup/Protocol/ and then change Polarity to "NEG".
Earlier versions of the firmware had the polarity swapped. See if that helps and then report back.

what menu?

Mike, "Edit Mix", Curve, "Diff" is possible to select a GVAR. Not possible for "Expo". Would it be possible to implement it?

I don't even remember it being asked

So, GVAR for expo only when using a stick and the Dual Rate menu..

Not possible if using a pot as source :(
It would be nice, but if not possible then we can always use a normal curve I guess..

EDIT: Idea, maybe including the Pots in the Dual rate expo menu?? :)

I think the question was regarding er9x rather than ersky9x.
ersky9x has greater possibilities, I've just checked and I have 2 spare bytes in the mix structure, so I might be able to sort something.

I'll note it for thinking about! Not too sure how easy it would be without using up lots of EEPROM though.

Mike,

Is there a direct link do download the latest version of eePe?
Some people seem to have been stuck at r420 and couldn't get any updates (on a Win7 x64 machine).
Mine is currently r421, but honestly speaking I don't remember how I got that one (so maybe it's one of the 'testing' releases).

The last 'official' release is 418, anything after that is a test version.

I need to add download links on http://www.er9x.com/. The files are there, just no links!

You probably got yours from: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598.

Hi, just read the post above but never saw any further reference to it, but I might have the same problem.

I have the same setup as above and I see random "popping up" of the menu, as if I had long pressed the menu button.....the "model select", "model setup" etc. one, plus other random highlighting of parameters whilst in other areas.....when in a mixer for instance, the highlighting of parameters changes of its own accord (not the value, just the parameter). It seems to be happening once the backlight has been on for some time, which I keep on whilst rummaging about/setting up etc. (HK blue). I have not seen the problem when the backlight is off, but this is not conclusive.
It's as if the up/down & menu buttons were activating themselves. The radio is kept indoors, completely dry, as I don't get much flying time at the moment, so it's never got wet.

I'm going to guess some random noise is causing some detection of a "rotary encoder". there is code to handle such an item both connected to some LCD data lines and connected to the TEZ board.
An encoder provides an extra button, which functions as a combination of MENU and EXIT, together with movement information that functions rather like the + and - buttons.
The only Tx I have with a TEZ board in it also has an encoder fitted, so I haven't seen this problem.

As an experiment, I think that if you change the TEZ >= r90 option to OFF, it will stop the receipt of the encoder data from the TEZ board.
Then see if you still get this menu popping up. If you do, then it is probably due to the looking at the LCD data lines for encoder information, if you don't then the encoder data is coming from the TEZ board.

Well after trying all evening to recreate the problem.....I haven't !

I'm pretty certain the conditions were the same as when I saw the problem a few days ago but nothing I've done this evening has shown any problem whatsoever.

I recalled after the earlier post, that at the time, I tried removing the XJT module and also turned my laptop off etc. but the random jumping persisted.....couldn't find any pattern to it at all, other than as mentioned about turning the backlight off.

Anyway I've something to try if ever I see it again......thanks for your help.

On a different subject Mike, can you possibly confirm for me or not, that although I've found that ER9X on my 9X configured as in the earlier post, can handle Sport telemetry ok from an X8R receiver bound in D8 mode, OpenTX cannot? Doesn't matter if you can't.....

I was trying to operate my Taranis with an X8R in D8 mode and some analogue servos, hoping to get Sport telemetry, but have been totally unsuccessful, unless I install ERSky9X.

Cheers

HI Don,
I believe with your Taranis with erSky9x firmware the internal XJT transmitter can only be used in PXX Protocol and with D16 when using S.Port telemetry.
If using an external XJT transmitter module you can use the following settings.

Taranis (erSky9x-x9d) telemetry using external transmitter modules

XJT module to X8R receiver/S.Port telemetry works with both DipSW OFF/com1/PXX/D16.
XJT module to D8R-II receiver/telemetry works with both DipSW OFF/com1/PXX/D8.
XJT module to D8R-II receiver/telemetry works with DipSW 1 ON & 2 OFF/com2 external cable/ PPM/D8.
DJT module to D8R-II receiver/telemetry works with both DipSW OFF/com2 external cable/PPM/D8.

Note: when using Taranis with comport 2 (like with the DJT module) you will need to make a telemetry cable and connect it to the external FrSky transmitter module (com2 plug is in battery bay to the far right).

Bob B.....thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I have OpenTX 2.1.3 loaded on my Taranis.

What I was trying to do was use an X8R receiver with the FrSky update to correctly handle analogue servos, as I had serious problems with an HS65MG servo in a new glider, fitted with a FrSky Smart Port Variometer. The problem of the servo PWM frame rate is well documented elsewhere but FrSky's update only works with the X8R in D8 mode and I couldn't get the Sport to work in that configuration with OpenTX. I thought I might be missing something but haven't found the solution so far.

If however I install ER9X on my Turnigy 9X (XJT module), or install ErSky9X on the Taranis, Sport all works perfectly with the X8R in D8 mode.....hence my question in my previous post.

Thanks again

Mike,

I think I found a minor issue in the recent er9x... The hidden Hardware menu is not very well hidden. If I start the radio normally and go to Settings, I don't see 'Hardware' section there. But if I put the cursor on the 'General' and then click RIGHT, the cursor moves to an empty field right beneath the 'DiagAna'. Then I press MENU and get to the Hardware settings screen... :)

This happens to me on an er9x-2561.hex r819.

I am keenly awaiting the arrival of the 9Xtreme board, so this question is not very important, but I would still like to know the answer if possible.....

I cannot receive RPM telemetry on my 9X (64 processor) from an X8R receiver with an FrSky Sport sensor, bound in D16 mode. I read somewhere that Mike once posted a test version of ER9X that would accept RPM, but this was for a 128 processor 9X. Is it simply that it is not activated for the 64 type?

Thanks

You are correct. I think when I added some things in, including RPM, I was really tight on memory on the '64, so didn't include it.
I can now add it in on the '64 as I save some more flash since then.

Hi Mike, thank you for the info.....please only add RPM to the 64, if you have the time. I'm considering buying a new 9X for the 9xtreme and keeping the original 9X as it is, so it would be good, but it's fine if you don't.

Hi all,
i was using the er9x - frsky test version that was released on 05-Sep-2015 14:38 and suddenly the radio started scrolling and choosing random options throughout the menu, by itself.
Did anyone had this before? If not, here's the info for developer(s).
