LCD BARELY ILLUMINATES

Post by blkfleet »

Hi,
here is my issue, i recently flashed my 9XR last night, everything went well.
while exploring and learning the new format i played around with the screen settings
all i did was set the trainer switch to turn on the screen and i set it to go off in 20secs
everything went well last night today i went to play the Tx some more after seeing tutorial videos by Joao...
and i noticed the screen wasn't lighting up at all no matter what i did in the settings, but here is the weird part
i put my hands over the screen for some reason and realized that the screen has a very very low "glow" to it.
like a bulb barely getting juice to lite, by pack is good on juice but the screen isn't playing nice. could it be the flash i did
or do i need to replace the screen or is it something else? thanks in advance for the help in this matter

I presume the 9XR already ships with a display backlight??

Please go to "Radio Setup /AudioHaptic" and check what setting you have on "Sound Mode"

Joao the back light was bright last night and today i can see the display but the light is barely there and if i recall there is no option for changing how bright the back light is. i understand you can adjust the contrast on the display but that is not the light brightness, unless i am wrong...

No problem, glad to help.. Strange about the haptic affecting the backlight. But you have no haptic anyway.
About learning the firmware. Yeah it is a completely different concept, but more powerful. You can do stuff that you can only dream of with other expensive systems. It is a bit confusing in the beginning though, but once you get it you will see how easy (and fun) it is to work with it. You will always try to do some complicated stuff to your models just to use the radio capability :)
I have made some videos that might help. They are a bit old now so some settings might be a bit different, but the basics are of course the same. I will post a link in a while.
