Y-axis "Centering Spring" disabler screw

Post by 9XTremist »

Hey,
When the screw is all the way in it disables the centering spring. If it's halfway out is there any difference than almost all the way out as in how hard it returns to center or something else like how fast it returns at different settings?Mine seems funny or it could be me. Maybe someone can tell me how it is supposed to act.
Would have liked to have made that question more understandable.

thanks
that's the screw
that's the screw

That screw is just to disable the stick spring as far as I know. Actually on a couple of gimbals I had to remove the spring itself as the screw wasn't doing a very good job.

Thanks João,
Mine was acting weird or so I thought. Then I was thinking I don't really know how it's supposed to act. Think I'd better stop thinking and ask for directions.

thanks again

There's no point in having the screw in the middle, it would cause no spring in the center then you start hitting it somewhere in the middle of travel... You'd want it either fully in or fully out.

I tried it fully in (several times) and it produced an area about 2 marks either side of center that was like slop, had no tension and the stick would fall over. So now I have it "fully out" as in I took the spring fully out and now all is fully well. Both X-axis are maxed out and both Y-axis, not so much. If I wasn't afraid of breaking the little tabs the springs hook on I'd try to find some stiffer springs.
