Switches not populating

Post by DrJekyll »

Hello, I’m new to this group and new to Open TX but not new to the wonderful world of RC.

I decided that I have already waited to long to learn Open TX but better late then never. Anyways I have a problem and I have searched and searched with no luck.
I have been watching all of Painless 360 videos on setting up the Taranis. I got to the point where I wanted to activate a switch for flight mode’s. The problem I’m having is when I go to the input screen and try to make channel 5 a switch, it only shows s1 and s2 and the left and right stick. I wanted to turn on the upper right 3position (SG I believe, going off memory) but that switch is at an option, none of the other switches are an option. I also tried through the Companion. I’ll attach a picture. Thank you for your help.

You probably somehow managed to set the type of all switches to None in radio settings-Hardware.

If so, that is the reason it should be hidden :)

No point, he obviously didn't go any manually set them to none obviously or he'd know it. But could have been with poor manipulations with companion, like changing radio type repeatedly with the document open...

In my opinion that means at least some kind of warning should be implemented.
Or don't allow changing the radio type when a document is open.

Thank you for the thoughts guys. Not sure why the picture wasn’t included, I’ll try again. Sounds like maybe I need to reload the latest software. If you click the picture it will have the correct orientation.

What is needed to verify that switches are set is this:
RadioSettings4Switches.png
(Note tx is QX7, so no SE,SG switch.)

left click on "File" in the top bar
Open a .otx or make a new one.
if the top eclipse in my picture is not showing, right click in the .otx grey boundaries around the .otx and then click on 'Show Radio Toolbar.'
Then left click on 'Edit Radio Settings'
Then left click on the 'Hardware' tab.

or, alternately

left click on "File" in the top bar
Open a .otx or make a 'New' one.
left click on "File" in the top bar
in the drop down menu, left click on 'Edit Radio Settings'
in the "Radio Settings' window, left click on the 'Hardware' tab
