I can't bind receiver: FRSKY 2019 X9D + L9R

I am new to RC and don't know what I'm doing.

Radio: FRSKY 2019 X9D+ ACCESS (purchased 1 week ago)

Receiver: FRSKY L9R

Problem: When I try to bind, the radio won't bind. Receiver stays "solid red" and does not bind.

I have changed the mode to LR12accst mode, like I saw on some tutorials and instructions.

My thoughts:

I think I made a big mistake buying the new "2019 ACCESS" version of this radio. I didn't realize this new version would not work the same as the previous version. I am thinking this is the reason why I am having this problem. I just ordered an "XR8" receiver to see if that one will work instead.
This is a massive headache and I just want to find something that works.

Yes, the 2019 version does not support LR12 so you can't use an L9R without using an external XJT module.

Okay thanks for that info. Will the X8R work with the new 2019 x9d radio?
