D8 - D16 question

Hi all. I have a Taranis Q X7 and a Mobula7 V2. I have the latest firmware on the FC through BetaFlight ( CRAZYBEEF4FR (C4FR) 4.0.4 Jun 30 2019 ) I'm not sure why I shouldn't be able to use D16 mode but I can't. When I use D16 Mode Frsky_X the throttle is unstable bouncing below 1000 to 885 and drops you out of the sky...

Using D8 fixes this problem, but I lose the two outside switches on the RX as well as the two knobs.

I can't understand how on a new Mobula 7, latest version V2, I can use D16 mode?

Am I missing something?

It seems it's using an SPI receiver. BF still doesn't work right with those in D16 mode.
In D8 you can still use 4 aux channels so unless you need more you shouldn't be limited.

So SPI doesn't work well with D16.. okay.. yes I have 4 aux and yes that's enough for the most part... I just hate to not be able to use all the aux's... but I can make it work...thank you
