Copy model from Taranis to taranis X7
Hi,
I need an advice.
What is the best and fastest way to copy a model from a Taranis to a Taranis X7?
Can we simply copy the model file from one SD card the other SD card?
I want to avoid to write all the pages one by one.
Thx

You need to use companion to do the conversion.

Re: Copy model from Taranis to taranis X7
OK let me know if this is the good procedure to convert models from X9D to QX7.
1- Connect X9D usb to PC and open companion.
2- Program companion for QX7
3- Read (load models from X9D). The models read from X9D should be converted to X7 in companion memory.
4- Eject X9D SC card.
5- Connect QX7 usb to pc
6- Read models (load from X7)
7- Drag models wanted from X9D window (already converted models) to X7 window.
8- Write models to X7
9- Then load models and save in EEPROM.
Is this OK?

Correct! Just not sure what you're trying to do with step 9. If it's to make a backup copy simply save the open document that you just wrote to the radio.

Thanks Kilrah,
I'm not sure if step 9 is necessary.
After step 8 write to X7 in model location on SD card, will that automatically save it in the EEP file?
I'm not sure what is the relationship between EEP file and the SD card.

SD card is not used for anything model related on Taranis radios.
Write from companion writes to the radio's eeprom, not SD.
Write from companion writes to the radio's eeprom, not SD.

Re: Copy model from Taranis to taranis X7
Hi
An easy question for Taranis experts.
Are the model files of the Taranis 100% compatible with the Taranis plus? Except for haptic of course.
Do they need a conversion? Can we simply use them as is in either radio?
Thanks

Taranis X9D and Taranis X9D Plus Model files yes, Firmware no.
But I'm just possessing a lot of experienced I'm not an expert.
And a QX7 and an Xlite are are part of Taranis Family, so NO!

Yes of course all firmware are not compatible on any of the Taranis.
But for models and consequently EEPROM:
1- Taranis and Taranis + are compatible
2- X7 not compatible with taranis and taranis +.
Horus and X10 not compatible.
