QX7 loss of servo control at close range

Post by biomed37 »

Hello I have had a x9d taranis from 2014 and had no problems with the radio works with all types of recievers. I have only had a x7q taranis for 1 month now. It is working on the lb eu firmware. The problem i am having is; when I place the transmitter up close to the model 6inches from reciever, model is plywood balsa i get a message "tellemitry loss then signal loss". If i work the rudder control the servo will stop or jamm at full gain then to middle then to full oposite gain while I operate the gimbal from left to right. If I move the transmitter 1m away i will keep getting this message"tellemitry loss but not signal loss" but the rudder control will jump/ stick and is not smooth at speed. If I move the gimbal slowly the rudder will move slowly. I can fly the model o.k. at full range and have done a range check and its flyes fine with no dropout or jaggy movements. I did use to always get telemitry dropout on my xd9 taranis when i put the transmitter close to most recievers but I never had a lose of signal or jaggy servo movements.
Is this a radio problem, firmware problem, reciever aerial position fault or just general interference from the transmitter being too close to the reciever.
I am using a x8r rciever with the black aerials no antena covers.

That is a known "feature" (sarcasm) of some RF equipment. And I have found it in most Frsky stuff I have.
The receiver is being swamped by the strong signal from the TX when too close to it.
On the DIY receivers I build for myself, the developer took care of that problem by sensing the swamping and turning off the receivers Signal Amplifier when the reception is too strong.

Just don't fly your model right in front of your nose and you will be fine :) That is dangerous anyway ;)

But I do understand that it can be a pain while working on the model... :(
