How do I UNBRICK the Turnigy9x Radio Main-Board C

Post by bob195558 »

Subject: Need to know how to UNBRICK the Turnigy9x Radio Main-Board Chip...........

Cause of problem: Interrupted the Communication between Turnigy9x Radio Main-Board CPU Chip and the computer program eepe. Turnigy9x Radio appears to be dead.......

Result of Interrupted Communication: bricked M64 CPU chip, which means the chip is erased and is called BRICK and/or blocked Chip. Not able to access the chip so to be able to re-flash it to the stable er9x program. ............

So I need to learn how to UNBRICK the Turnigy9x Radio Main-Board Chip using the Hobby King USBasp AVR Programming Device for ATMEL proccessors.
Then I hope to re-flash it to the stable er9x program.

Thus has helped some. It didn't work for me and I replaced the m64 as the final fix. The m64 may have need damaged instead of bricked?
Hope this helps.

I went to the location (http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/ ... Fuse_Brick ) and nothing is there?

It seems to be no understandable information of step by step instructions to Unbricking our Stock 9x Radio Main Boards.

I am still hoping to find a way to restore this Stock 9x Radio Main Board.
Its not a must that I restore it,
But I would like to be able to save it and have it on hand as a back up and/or if some one needs a Stock 9x Radio Main Board.

Try the link given by ShowMaster in a post above, it is a PDF document that should help. (http://er9x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/do ... 0Brick.pdf)

A search for unbrick or bricked may find other links.

Thank for your help.
I have seen this before, .... but I become overwhelmed with trying to understand what its all about.
Many, Many, Many and very many, a lot of options and choices and I become lost in trying to understand what it is saying and/or what its talking about. :?
The more I study it the bigger it gets.
I just do not understand it. :?

I looked up AVR dude: ( dude,http://www.dogpile.com/search/web?fcoid ... ude%2C&ql= ), :geek:
and then tried: (http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/avrdude/), :ugeek:
and then tried: (http://ladyada.net/learn/avr/avrdude.html). :?:

I think I need a step by step to be able to do it.
I give up! ..... and maybe look again at it some day.

Thank for your help.

Bob,
Forget the dudes Dude a simple tool that will do everything you need is myAVR progtool:
http://shop.myavr.com/index.php?sp=down ... wort=dl112
All you need is to do then is to load the correct hex file.
It includes simple diagnostics and fuse setting.
If the processor is bricked however you will need to apply an external clock to the processor to get it to talk to the programmer.
