Taranis QX7S with Traxxas Slash 2WD

I recently got a really good transmitter for use with a plane or my racing drone; I wanted to use it with my trx slash so I bought a Radio Boss JP 4-in-1 multi protocol module which has the proper protocol downloaded for the receiver on the car (receiver #6519) I've been trying to pair everything together but currently i'm just kind of stuck, anyone got experience with this?
