High speed mode for digital servos?

I was about to try the HS mode on a D8R-II Plus for digital servos, and I stumbled upon this (see second post):

What I find strange is that that is the only post I have found about the topic. If I google HS mode, all I find is basically product descriptions.

Anyway is it true that in HS mode the Rx simply outputs the same data twice every 18 ms as opposed to once with the normal mode?

On the old D8 stuff yes, but on D16 every pulse is different.

Yet another reason to upgrade to the RX8R-Pro.
